OT: THE STRIPPER (admits that she) LIED (Duke Lacrosse Rape Case)

Of the 3, what happened to Reade Seligman was beyond a travesty. He survived and thrived, but even discounting the lie the other evidence was such that he never should have been charged.

And the Duke faculty. Funny story about Duke fundraising. If you remember, 88 Duke professors were in an ad denouncing the 3. In next year's annual fundraising drive, numerous Duke alums sent in an annual donation of 88 cents in protest.

I'm sure all of those professors apologized after the facts came out, right?

She should be shown zero sympathy. Not only did she attempt to ruin 3 peoples lives, but her false claims only served to shed doubt on future legit claims. Good to see she is in jail now (on an unrelated charge, shocking)

The pendulum for "rape" has swung too far to one side. No one's career and life should be ruined because they have been accused of rape. The bar for charging for rape has to be raised to a more reasonable level. We don't need to go back to life from 50 years ago where men got away with everything but definitely need to get back to a reasonable level. Too many careers have been lost due to false accusations of rape. We need to reinstate "innocent until proven guilty" in all rape cases. Detectives and DA's should not feel pressured to press charges in these cases. If the victim is caught lying, then the punishment has to be similar to the charges for the "aggressor".

Shhhhh. That one doesn’t fit the preferred narrative.

Does that one take into account one of the accused leaving the scene of the assault before it happened? Take a cab back to his dorm which is recorded in the cabbie's log, who happened to an African-American, at a time consistent with the time he left? Who stops on the way to make an ATM withdrawal and has his image recorded by the ATM around the time of the alleged assault? Who then swipes his dorm card to reenter in perfect timing with the facts described above?

Lol, please bro. There were five lives irretrievably altered. But they don’t quite get the attention level of the usual suspects. Get over yourself.

Didn't answer the questions. Those are true facts.

There were facts to the Central Park case too. Would you like us to walk through each of those too?

What’s your end game here?

Sure. How many of them were photographed making withdrawal from an ATM at the time the crime occurred? I didn't call them guilty. I just detailed how egregious charging Seligman was given the facts available to Nifong when he moved forward.

Ok. There have been MANY people railroaded by overzealous DA’s and law enforcement. The exception here was that they were upper class and white.

They also received a settlement for $20 mm each.

By contrast, the Central Park 5 were between 14 and 16, and spent over 5 years in jail for a crime they didn’t commit.

They were privileged to be able to split $40mm from the city of NY for their troubles.

It’s interesting that some have their passions raised to such a degree in this case. Clearly the woman should be held accountable and pay a price for lying. . However, there is a racial component to this. There is a black female accusing white men of raping her. Historically there is absolutely no comparison with the amount of false accusations of white women accusing black men of raping them. In those situations, the ultimate penalty wasn’t financial or having careers disrupted. It typically ended in execution either by a mob or the state. I would suggest more people read the domestic history of their own country. Adding some context to current events help.

When was the last time someone, under any circumstance, executed for rape? When was the last time was a member of a lynch mob not prosecuted? 60-70 years? Emmett Till, though that was in no way rape, or even assault. A total history of rape accusations and lynching is sordid and odious. But you can not say that current events are merely a continuation of that past.

Now in prison for murder she finally admits that she LIED about the "rapes" that took place at that Lax party. What a piece of human filth....SMDH.

Scumbag. LIke that DA Mike Nifong. That guy should have been alot more than disbarred.

They were all great kids whose lives were inexplicably fvcked by these evil people. The coach too. The President and profs of Duke should also have suffered much more than they did. Thank God one of those kids came from means in order to have smart and motivated attorneys who found the truth or they'd be rotting in jail cells.

The only saving grace is they all sued Duke and settled for $20MM each from my understanding. Should have been a lot more.
