OT: What are you all drinking tonight

Just tried to have a Tonewood Throwing Shapes. I have had many Tonewoods. They make great beer. This one wasn't one of them. A couple of sips and passed it on to my friend. She loves overly hopped beer.
Switched gears and went Belgium's De Dolle's Ara Bier. Now that is much better!

Finally got to stop by Tree House Brewing, in Charlton, MA. Very good stuff. Got a mixed case. This was the first one I picked out at random. Called "Fruit Project." Here's what it says about it on their website:

An innovative fruited Double IPA by Tree House Brewing Company

Utilizing the same hopping approach as Juice Project, and adding fresh guava, passion fruit, and peach puree, Fruit Project is an immensely juicy, fruit-forward double IPA with deep hop saturation and minimal bitterness.

Pouring a vibrant opaque yellow color in the glass, Fruit Project puts forward aromatic and mouthwatering notes of pineapple nectar, ripe Summer stone fruit, earthy citrus, and banana-mango smoothies.

It is vibrant, decadent, and richly flavored while maintaining an airy and pleasing disposition. In short - whoa.

It’s awesome - Enjoy!

Treehouse is amazing. Considered one of the best breweries in the country. Beautiful property as well.

Yeah, definitely a nice spot they have there. Didn't get to go in, but still impressive. Drove up, gave the order #, they wheeled out the order on a dolly, and I had to put it in my car. Line of about 20 cars when I got there. Went to a BBQ place a few miles down the road for lunch. That was a good spot, too.

Poured myself a Glenkinchie 10yo while grilling the brats this evening. Threw on my heavy mix, felt a little like a Rutgers tailgate!

Not really a rum guy, but trying to experiment a bit with my tastes. Other than "Coke," what should I mix this with (or should I just sip it)? Suggestions are appreciated.

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 for the first time and it is real good. It is a little slow developing but the finish is FANTASTIC and lingers.

See, I wish I had this type of experience, where I could say something like, "slow developing" and "it lingers." I just don't have that type of taste, I guess, or I'm not able to recognize it. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Probably not something to be proud of but experience. Some scotches hit you right out of the gate and then fade...this one is slow but then lingers quite long. I just took a sip 5 minutes ago and it still lingers!!!!!
It lingers longer, it seems.
I'm having spindrift sparkling water with vodka. I'm on my 2nd. I'll see how long that lingers!!

Late to the party, but any very good whiskey or rum can/should be sipped. At the most, one ice cube, IMO.

Enjoy!!

Enjoyed a couple of drams of Glenfarclas 18yo last night while I was cranking some tunes.

Yep, that 14yo port wood is really good.

I have a bottle of Appleton 21yo I picked up years ago - drinking it is like drinking a fine cognac.

Bob, why is Icarus your fav? And where do you rank Kane? Thanks brother!
Their beer tastes the best to me??? Icarus makes excellent IPA's but also produces some amazing stouts and other style beers. My taste buds like their stuff the best!!!!!

BTW, Kane is an excellent brewery...I would put them and Brix City a notch below Icarus but both are excellent at what they do.

I had Glendronach 12 for the first time tonight. Keeper for sure. Love the sherry cask flavors with a hint of oak. I still have never had a Bunnahabhain 12 which I hear is very good too. I think you enjoy that one!!!

Speaking of port wood, Tomatin 14 Port Wood is next on my radar.

Had a bit of Auchentoshin 12yo tonight. Wasn't gonna have anything, but then decided to have it with the cheese, crackers, fruit and bruschetta we were having for dinner due to having to prepare the whole thing.

I like Glendronach, finished my last bottle a couple of years ago and haven't gotten around to replacing it.

Let me know how that Tomatin is.

Brix City Yacht Jams today. They partnered up with Icarus for this one. Very good, has a coconut taste going for it. My wife said it reminded her of the beach.

Just dont let her drink it on the beach! It's illegal in NJ.
See thread titled Beer Beaches

Notes: Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure.

Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.

First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste.

A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more

You buy at a store or the brewery? I think I asked you this before. Looks good. Their can art is really cool. The beer matches it perfectly lol

Picked up the Other Half at Buy Rite in Hamilton. They distribute all over NJ now I believe so they shouldn't be to hard to find. It is a IPA though, I think you said before you don't care for them. They do make some sours you may like.
