Forde-Yard Dash: Everything you need to know ahead of championship weekend

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/forde-...jMTJpBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxMAR2dGlkAwRzZWMDc2M-

Bust of the Year*: Auburn (28). The Gus Malzahn idolatry reached nonsensical territory before the season, when media members picked the Tigers to win the SEC championship with three returning offensive starters. Everyone believed new starting quarterback Jeremy Johnson would simply be the latest plug-and-play star in the Malzahn system. He wasn’t. Auburn plummeted to 6-6 and last in the SEC West, and Malzahn will go from playing for the national title his first year to something approaching the hot seat in his fourth.

(*Bust of the Year is not to be confused with Dumpster Fire of the Year, which is Rutgers in a runaway.)

So did Mark schlabach on twitter

"If Richt decides to focus on charity work, I think Illinois or Rutgers would be good landing spots
10:19pm -

Agreed. Athletic department needs a lot of work, but it's not quite a Rutgers dumpster firetwitter.com/BlackStripeBlo…

It WAS a dumpster fire. The expectation is with clean-up minded AD and an established football head coach, it no longer WILL be.

9 bowls in 11 years and super high graduation rates.. These clowns need to slow down on the dumpster Fire talk.
We had a rough year, that's it. Coach is gone and now we move on. Seems that the fire wasn't all that difficult to extinguish

You didn't have to read this board to figure it out.

Thanks God - it forced these necessary changes

Good job 07. At least someone offers a reasoned perspective. We are far from a dumpster fire. A solid hire will go further to shoving a sock in the yappers' mouths.

In other news, the sun came up today and Franco is still dead. Forde's been insulting us on virtually a weekly basis all season long. It would've been noteworthy if he did not take a swipe at us in his regular season recap column.

We are not anywhere near close to a dumpster fire. Sorry folks. Anything that happened at Rutgers would be small potatoes at an SEC school or a big winner.
Meanwhile at Wisconsin, Corey Clement who was caught on camera contradicting his "story" that he was attacked has not been suspended and he will play in a bowl. A story not too far off from what happened to our players who were involved in the fight.

Blue skies, blue skies.

the guy who always takes digs at us completely unprovoked is that Brian Bennet jagoff on ESPN

going to back when he covered the BE for ESPN, he's always been downright rude about us.

I...dont...like...that...guy

I can't argue with what he wrote. It still doesn't change the fact that he's an a$$hat.
Mizzou is in bad shape, but because he's an alum, he's been giving that Chernobyl like meltdown the fluff piece treatment.

Everybody that makes fun of Rutgers ever is the worst writer ever and part of the conspiracy to keep us down!!!!!! We have no faults and our program is the pinnacle for any coach!!

We deserved a lot of negative crap with all that happened. Keep in mind that we attempted to look like a clean, trouble free program and we kind of looked foolish with the things that were happening.
Also, anyone else getting tired of hearing what a "sleeping giant" we are? I get the reference, but just when is going to happen?

Woz, it isn't that. It's just that Rutgers is an easy target. There is a lack of identity (probably because of the school's name) and a lack of people defending it when someone attacks. Like in other avenues in life, when there is an easy target, someone will always take a shot.
Fsu, Unc and many other well-supported schools aren't easy targets so it's a waste of time to attack them. With RU, these hack writers feel like their message is very easily received

THis is exactly it. The scrawny kid with no friends with asthma and scoliosis gets picked on during recess... why? Because the jerks know that they will face zero retaliation for doing so. Because they CAN. This is why Forde always only pops off at the schools he knows aren't as powerful and connected in terms of athletic support

He would think twice about running his mouth and constantly picking on a FB team like say Louisvelle or Texas... because he knows that there are probably many powerful alums (some in his working field), of those schools who are also die hard sports fans and they would remember his constant disrespect. The average established RU alum wouldn't give a crap if he heard some hack was trashing our sports teams regularly.

This is why writers like to make storylines about us and hype it up like we're the worst school ever... IT SELLS and they get no flak from it. All reward, no risk. THe worst that happens is we vent about it on a message board. Could you imagine if the entire NY media had our back? Guys like Forde would keep our name out of his mouth for sure.

The program is not a dumpster fire. This season certainly was. He's not the first to use that now-worn cliche to describe Rutgers football 2015. From the arrests to an early bad home loss to the preposterous email "scandal" -- hiding in both the email and in wardrobe? really? -- to getting blown off the field three times and embarrassed two others (maybe once, depending on how you look at it) to an AD whose baggage didn't exactly help her survive when things got bad to a four-win season. Yep. It was a mess.

And now we look forward. It won't take that much to fix it, really. Now, getting us competitive in this division will be a tougher nut, but I'll have patience if it looks like they're doing the right things.

But the fire is already out. Just not done cleaning up the ashes yet.

Well, who cares? Just don't ask Pat how his buddy Pitino is doing over at Louisville, he doesn't like to talk about that.
