Not sure why, but I'm pulling for Jimmy Walker (born Oklahoma, Baylor U) to hold off Jason Day and Henrik Stenson. Not sure how the rain held off, but it's shaping up for an exciting back 9. Walker w a 2 stroke lead.

1 stroke lead for Walker now. I guess since he's an American, and has never come close to winning a major, makes it easy to root for him as a dark horse. He seems like a very likeable guy.

He's definitely a likable guy, so wouldn't mind seeing him win, especially as Day and Stenson already have majors. His birdie from the bunker was beautiful. Should be an exciting finish with Walker 2 up on day and 3 up on Stenson with 6 to play (for Stenson). Amazed the weather has held up, too.

Walker playing it safe and still leading by 2 ! I also like Jason Day a lot, but since he's won a lot, I'm pulling for Walker. I used to work with a guy who could have been Day's twin brother, he drowned in a small lake just outside Wayne , NJ and I think of him a lot, he was also a very good golfer. When I see Day, I think of my deceased buddy. He was in his 30s, ugh.

Great approach by Day for an Eagle attempt, but Walker sinks a 15 ft birdie putt to go up by 3 ! I think that's it !

Day Eagles the 18th ! wow! but all Walker needs is a par on the 18th and he's hit the fairway with his Tee shot on 18

Uh oh, Walker pushes his approach into the right rough, not a good 2nd shot.

Well all he needs now is to 2 putt from about 25 feet. He must be nervous now though.

You are right, he should have hit a 7 or 8 iron and laid up again instead of the risky fairway wood.
Save shot coming up

Absolutely - really dumb play - could've had an even worse lie and been in bigger trouble. Why not hit a 5 or 6 iron to 80-90 yards, wedge to 15 feet and two putt for the win? Yeah, I get that he was able to chip to 25-30 feet and he should be able to 2-putt here, but this is nervy time...

Nice ! Walker sinks the 3 footer coming back ! Good for him , he made it harder than he should have ! Congrats to Jimmy Walker !
And here comes the obligetory USA chant. lol

I'm guessing Jordan Spieth will be out on the Green . There he is , Texas and Baylor golfers . Nice

Nice story by Nance, Walker's caddy was also a good college golfer when Walker was at Baylor, and he developed MS, so Walker hires him to be his caddy.

Nance was a good golfer at Houston, his roomie was Fred 'Boom Boom' Couples

They just mentioned Jim Barnes who won the 1st two PGA's. He was an honorary member of Essex County CC when I worked there in the 60's. He used to hang around the 10th tee on Sundays. Many a horrible tee shot was hit under his icy stare. Passed away around '67.

Nice to see him make the 3-foot comebacker to win...

Great finish. Day is a gamer. Walker is a great guy. So happy for him. I would have laid up, but pros compete to the end.

Was anyone there yesterday? It seemed the crowd was evenly split coming down the stretch between rooting for Day and Walker.

Afterwards Day mentioned how loud New Jersey people are lol. There were two times where he gave a stern look at the gallery after hitting his shot. Were there issues?

Day's bogie on the first hole and Walker's ,go in -stay out put,on the 17th were the determining factors on their final round.Very dramatic finish. Day's Eagle 18th and Walker's struggle to make a 5 was great to watch.BTW,only in Jersey do Golf spectators mug at the camera. I LOVE it.
