Policing posts has been mentioned when I point out some posters seem to be whining about being called out for their habit of being invisible after wins , but make strong appearences after losses so they can complain.
The poster who said that posts after wins and losses, but guess he doesn't like to see ( what I call)
truth in advertisement when it comes to a poster's habits.
So I will create a poll to see if pointing out those that just come on this board after losses should be pointed out or considered the same type of RUWBB fan that shows up rain or shine

Responses to any post should refer only to the specific point(s) made in the post. Ad hominem responses add nothing to the discussion and/or feed trolls.

spot on. it's the same thing when folks point out how somebody's opinion is less valid because their total post count is low.
debate the content, debate the facts, debate the opinions....leave the personal stuff at the home page...

I thought there were already rules about attacking the poster...(may not be a vicious attack but still in that regard)

"the same type of RUWBB fan" THAT right there has a "in the club/you're a good fan/bad fan" innuendo and I know that is not what MADHAT meant.

and speaking personally why it was until this year (after staying away a bit) that I felt I could come back to post here. Because the team was doing better, some players were killing it, and CVS deserved the support for her turn around season. Meaning I could feel and say a lot of positive stuff and not be labeled as a negatoid. Things certainly seemed to have taken a more balanced and inclusive/open minded stance here.

bump:
only because I'm going to go by the yea or nay vote when this poll ends on March 8th.

pushing up with this bump >only because I'm going to go by the yea or nay vote when this poll ends on March 8th and keep calling out people, if the majority thinks it's alright or stop because most think that's the wrong approach

collect the data over time.. categorize by positive or negative or fair/neutral post and let the chips fall where they may. On all the free boards here you have people posing as Rutgers fans.. something like this might reveal who they are rather easily.

my main reason for posting this poll wasn't because of the trolls that come from other sites but ( in my own judgement) Rutgers fans I felt only posted on this board to complain and hid when things were looking pretty good.
So I called them out every chance I got.
Seems like some posters felt the same and did it as well, but others felt it was wrong.
Now giving every RU fan a chance to express their opinion in a vote that I'll try to go by once poll is over 3/08.

But after seeing your message, I think it might be a good idea to have more discussion on why a person voted the way they did but don't mention names and only express their reason for vote in a generic manner

There is no such thing as an internet troll! It is a fabrication of those who upset with negativity LOL. We can only say positive things, right?

I already gave you mine. And look at today's game thread...terrible performance and like 5 people participating. That's no fun.

If we start tracking ..like you need a card to get in...then I'm out. This isnt the NSA. You want to ask why someone only shows for the free food..have at it.

I’ve stayed out of this thread, to see where it goes... but FYI, I don’t see your poll.

** I couldn't see it on my iphone or ipad app, but I can see it from a browser.

You don't see this>
Should the posters who only post after a loss be pointed out or not
yes or no <

when you open this thread
right now the votes are :
20 yes
23 no

Poll closed 25 in favor of not pointing out those (Rutgers fans) that seem to appear when things look bad, but hard to find when the team is looking good.
21 wanted them pointed out.
Voting complete and poll closed so I'll do what I said I'd do: "because I'm going to go by the yea or nay vote when this poll ends on March 8th and keep calling out people, if the majority thinks it's alright or stop because most think that's the wrong approach"
