Big game for the squad. Ohio St. has a poor record, but much like us last year, a number of those games were one or two goal losses. This is going to be a tough game.

Army beating Navy in the Patriot League tourney today helps our at large chances as our RPI should go up.

I would assume Maryland based on them being the highest ranked team, but I don't know. If we beat OSU, it really gets complicated. We all beat OSU, we beat Hopkins, Hopkins would beat Maryland in this scenario and Maryland beat us.

It's a great question, I honestly don't know.

Based on goal differential in the games among the 3. With maximum of 3 for any game. So RU over JHU only is a plus 3. As I read it we can't get top seed

Regardless of who gets the 1 seed, we all have to win 2 games to get the championship and all 4 teams (even if the fourth is PSU or OSU) are good, so I don't see seeding as that important like a 14-seed Bball bracket or something.

Why this scenario happening IS important, is because (even though it would be shared), it would give Rutgers it's first Big Ten championship in any team sport. We'll know more at around 4pm tomorrow ....

Semifinal will be very tough regardless. If RU can't get the 1 seed, it means either playing Hopkins on its home field or playing Maryland, which looks like the toughest team to my amateur lacrosse eye.

I watched the second half of that Army-Navy game and wasn't sure if the upset would help or hurt us. The announcers were confident that Navy losing today keeps them out of the NCAA because ACC and B1G teams will soak up at-large bids.

Interesting that our game is meaningless for our B1G seeding, although obviously it is very important to any at-large bid chances.

For those who did not click: we will be the #2 seed and face #3 Johns Hopkins if the Terps beat JHU, and we will be the #3 seed and play Maryland if JHU wins.

Huh? I don't believe that's the case. We can finish as either the 2nd or 3rd seed.

Nuts, the link showed the seeding for every combination of outcomes this weekend. According to the chart, the only thing that affects our seed us the Maryland-Hopkins game.

Just happy to be in the mix, being a factor and having meaningful games down to the wire.

Its been a loooong time coming and I LOVE it!!!!!!

It seems from an NCAA POV we would want MD to beat JHU so we get JHU in semis. I think MD is toughest team. Beat OSU and JHU and get to NCAAs.

On the other hand it would be nice get a share of our 1st big 10 title.

Okay gotcha now I was looking at that after a few and was like "uhm...we can finish 2nd or 3rd" lol!

Out of Maryland, Hopkins, Penn State, I'd rather play Hop again. Even on their home field.

Maryland is damn good. PSU will want revenge. Hopkins kids are probably still looking down their noses at us thinking there's no way they could lose to us again (and IMHO we're a better team, regardless...).

I think Hop has a lot of respect for us. They are now missing their top 4 middies. Still very dangerous, but we match up with them well.

Maryland Hopkins will be interesting.

I cannot emphasize strongly enough the importance of this game with respect he NCAA tourney. RU's worst nightmare will occur if Army and Duke win tomorrow. Any blemish on their record at this point will destroy their chances. And they'll need at least a semi-final win next week to stay in the hunt.

#2 seed Rutgers plays #3 seed Hopkins on Thursday, 5 May. Winner plays winner of Md vs Penn St for the B1G championship on Sunday.

This Big Ten lacrosse conference is really exciting, in only its 2nd year. The B1G didn't have enough lacrosse teams for their own conference until Md, Rutgers, and Hopkins joined. Brilliant expansion!

Not a great 1st half...hopefully they can bounce back in the 2nd.

KA is not seeing the ball very well. The rain in the first half should not be an excuse. We just looked flat.

We need to put it on cage too.

Surprised with all the money OSU has they don't have a dedicated Lax facility and stadium. The Shoe in the rain and empty looks like one of the dreariest places in the world. It feels like they're playing in a Mausoleum.:(

So does (for B1G seeding anyway) this make tOSU meaningless?

As a new fan it strikes as incredible just how important face offs are. Possession is half the battle and it's up to a single player. It's a shame it's a weakness on this team.

Agree.

If the players like it, so be it.

But I'm not a fan of the regular season game in a big FB stadium like ours or any of them.

Brecht absolutely needs to recruit a dominant FOGO guy.

Another blown opportunity with a turnover in the offensive zone.

This hasn't been nearly as entertaining to watch as the PSU game. Faceoffs and turnovers, so much time on defense against the slooooow Buckeye offense.

Way too many turnovers and it looks like OSU will win it. Very sloppy game for RU.

Lax guys does this seal our fate for an at large bid? Is it now B1G title or go home?

Faceoffs are crucial. Need a real shot clock in the 4th quarter where it has to be on goal not just close.

The attack did not come to play. And as mentioned above very sloppy. You gotta catch and throw.

The college game needs a shot clock next year. The subjective delay and the shot clock discretion by the refs needs to change. The shot also needs to be within the 6 X 6... Similar to hoops hitting the rim, otherwise It should be a turnover.

Bad loss. Surprised, not really. Nothing surprises anymore. Even wins like the PSU game. But disappointing nonetheless.

Probably Yes

If we beat Hopkins we are still a strong chance.

Just not our day today. Blown call gave them a goal, plays we typically make with ease not happening, poor face off play and a few suspect goals. The boys fought, but didn't have enough to combat all that and some bad luck.

They remind me of us last year and vice versa.

Gotta beat Hopkins Thursday. Lots to play for.
