Rutgers-Pitt, 9/17/92

- party started at noon in the "courtyard" behind our house, on Condict, that about 5 other houses on Condict and Somerset shared

- hot, humid, foggy night and IIRC Mitter cramped up twice on what would have been breakaway TD's, BUT

- WE WIN and I still have a "Shit ON sPITT" t-shirt somewhere!

- sprained my ankle running down the steps in the "old" north end zone. Gutted it out the entire game, grabbed crutches from my roommate following, then went to the Knight Club and danced my ass off with them lol!

GREAT DAY and KNIGHT!

Look at how far the north end zone is then, take into account the slope, and realize how insanely far the TOP of those middle sections are from the field!

Not to hijack the thread but also from that site...

Lots of cool pix from that site. Excellent find.

..and another rare photo of Schiano when he was a grad assistant:

3:08.27, 3:08.47 and 3:09.07... Butch Jones as well. Last one hugging Graber. '92 GA also.

I cannot understand why Pitt did not onside the kick after their last score.....kicking off from the 50 should have made it
that much better an option than a regular kickoff and then hoping to hold RU without a first down..

we had a similar situation against Florida , where we onside kick at the 50 and got the ball, putting us in position to
win.....which we screwed up, and the game wound up in a tie.

Those are classic uniforms!!! Not this year's. Not 2006.

Combination of humidity and temporary lighting made it look dark on the field vs nowadays. Still a historical win and a fun evening.

I started to cramp up on my INT. How else do I explain getting tossed to the ground by Van Pelt who couldn't run a lick. It should have been a pick 6. Also, George Stewart was cheering instead of blocking Van Pelt.[roll]

LOL that's right Doug I forgot about that! I'm going to blame my sprained ankle on that, from now on, instead of the 8-hours of drinking prior to the game hahaha!

Fla was the opening game in '85

Gotta love how you can CLEARLY here us students - yikes - chanting "SHIT ON PITT! SHIT ON PITT!" in the opening!

I tell this story every time this game is brought up...

Sat right around the tunnel. Few rows down from the top. Guy in front of us had to tell us every time he opened his mouth that the went to Notre Dame.

"You know, I went to Notre Dame and..."

"One time when I was at Notre Dame we..."

"Funny story, when I was at Notre Dame..."

THE. WHOLE. GAME.

Was not drunk. Just chatty. Really chatty. My future brother in law did not come back to a game for over 20yrs after that...."Are people always like this at Rutgers games? I'm out."
