This is a college sports message board. Fans of one team are going to get into it with other fanbases in the same conference and geographic proximity. Does that make it fact? No doubt Sandusky had victims but that doesn't mean every one who claims to be one is one. Any time there is a chance to get money people are willing to lie. We seen it with 9/11, Boston Marathon ect. If you have a company willing to pay just to make things go away your have people who may not tell the truth.
I doubt this account for several reasons. Every other victim has said Sandusky groomed his victims and often over a years time. In this case he did not even know the kid and just randomly stuck his finger in a guys rectum in a shower in front of multiple coaches and other campers. Not one can corroborate his story and one coach he claimed was in there was not even employed at Penn State at the time. He said he told multiple campers, coaches and Paterno but was to embarrassed to tell his own coaches, friends or parents.
It never happened because every other kid stated they did not shower where 150 said but enclosed stalls in another part of campus.

So your answer is that Paterno didn't protect Sandusky for money but he either protected the child rapist for his own ego or because Paterno himself got off on children getting raped.
