Schiano in the running for USF head coaching job

Are you sure ? I've read some of your posts. Maybe you should check.

So the puff piece he did on si.com two years ago was not to show he was new and improved and ready for another shot? Interviewed for jobs past two years, adds up to three to me.

Mega bucks from Tampa Bay left him not needing a job. It was well chronicled his travveling around the country. When he started looking again, there weren't too many jobs that would've have been desireable to him. How many big time jobs open up every year, anyway?

When ever his name is attached to an opening, he's usually in very good company (Charlie Strong, Les Miles in this case). He's got a pretty good gig now as DC of OSU to survey the land, and some pretty good heavyweights in his corner (Meyer, Belichek) that immediately come to mind. My gut says the USF job is not enough. But only time will tell.

If its true those are some good names on the list for USF. I wouldn't have expected Schiano to be on the list but maybe it's a combo of him liking TB and beggars can't be choosers. Same for the others on the list who might really want to be HC again and resurrect their HC prospects.

His last game wasn't against UConn, it was against Iowa State. It wasn't a blowout loss, or any other kind of loss. It was a 27-13 win in the Pinstripe Bowl.

The guy was bookended by Terry Shea and Kyle Flood. Hard not to look like Vince Lombardi compared to THAT.

USF is a great opportunity for Greg if he wants to keep his family in Tampa.

Taggarts salary was $ 2M at USF. Why would they pay Greg more than that ?

And there is still that pesky issue of Greg's tenure with the Bucs at the same stadium where USF plays.

It wouldn't surprise me if USF wants nothing to do with Greg Schiano after his previous coaching experience in town. People in this town do not like him.

He's not going back to Tampa. His time with the Bucs soured his reputation in that area, even though, frankly, he did lots better then the guy who replaced him there. He's probably one of the better HC candidates available, along with Miles, but I don't see either landing at USF.
