I know im mentally slow most of the time. I'm watching the Women's game vs Michigan, good game BTW, and I saw the word "3rd" on the bottom of the TV screen. Not paying much attention these days, since when Women's BB have gone to playing 4 quarters? Are they going to do this for Men's BB? Just asking amongst "friends."

I thought it was odd seeing quarters as well....

Yeah, I thought I was going nuts last December when I went to one of our early WBB games and it seemed like the half was over in ten minutes! [laughing]

Also no more 1and1 all fouls 2 shots after reaching bonus in each quarter

Who remembers when NBA used to
have 3 to make 2? And played doubleheaders.
Four different teams. Guess I'm showing
my age lol.

I've actually liked what I've seen of the changes. I believe NCAA men's basketball is the only level that is playing halves at this point. In the women's game this year, each team gets five fouls per quarter, and it resets at the end of the quarter. This seems to help the flow of the game as under the present men's system a team often picks up the penalty triggering seventh foul about midway through the half, turning the rest of the half into trips to the foul line. With the quarter system, each team starts the fourth quarter with a clean slate.
