Sounds like kickoff time for the season opener will be announced today

this is where the PAC/B1G relationship could help. Let BTN show it this year and we will let PAC show it next season
This would be nice but I won't hold my breath as BTN also has to air some/many (probably 4 or 5) of the 7 games that aren't on an ESPN Network.

My guess is SNY will simulcast it.
I'd be very surprised if that happens, since they've never done that before to my knowledge. The Pac-12 Network is "national" despite nobody carrying it. They own the rights to this game. They'd probably benefit more by B1G fans screaming at their provider to carry the network than to sell the rights to a local cable channel.

I was hoping for the later start since I'm driving up from Portland. Guess we'll come up Fri night for some pre- game festivities. I don't think the Huskies or their fans are particularly happy with that start time,

They are probably hoping this happens..and might be a reason they scheduled and announced a national game on the network so early.

If it doesnt happen, i bet they let a local comcast affiliate pick it up, as the network is HQd in Comcasts studio in SF. SNY is a comcast affiliate.

I love the game time for our guys, much better than a 10 PM EDT kickoff. It might take some juice from the home crowd too. As a Dish subscriber, I get the Pac 12 network with my sports package so no issue there either.

If I was going to be there, I could see wanting a later start time.

I'm not following your logic. The network is wholly owned by the Pac-12. They only share a building with Comcast in SF. Comcast has no investment in the P-12N nor vice-versa.

What's the point of an east coast friendly time if it's not carried in NJ? Is this time meant to make it more attractive for a local network to pick it up?

True...but in sure theres a relationship there that might help, thats all im saying.

This is a debacle.

That time just blows

Quite the contrary - this is a very good time for our boys - I was worried that they'd do the night time thing again. That was a major factor in our OT loss to Fresno State in 2013 - Flood knew the players were out of gas, which is why he went for 2 - it had been a 4.5 hour game and was essentially 3 in the morning East Coast time for our guys.

Exactly.

11 am start. Man our fans would be crying

I am going to Seattle to see the game and I am crying about the 11:00am start.
No wait a second, it's not on local TV in NJ/NY so I pumped about going to Seattle .
Yeah Baby !!!!!!!!!!

I'll be surprised if the game isn't picked up by a network with more market penetration in this area. Money to be made here. I also don't mind 11 am local time - hopefully, their fans are still sleepy and hungover and unable to cheer loudly, lol.

What is the weather forecast for Seattle on September 3?

Partly Sunny High 74 Low 56 No Rain

Accuweather only goes out to Aug 29 so we need to wait another week or so.

(I started to check out climatology for Seattle and found that ridiculous Accuweather link...assume that's where Husky got his numbers which would simply be the historical average, not a forecast...unlike Aug 29 :joy:)

We need numbers' forecast!

I predict lots of pain (they are top 15, right?), lol. Seriously, go with climo. 9/3 average hi/low is 74/56F, which is quite nice and summers are quite dry in Seattle with less than 1" of rain per month in Jul and August and only 1.6" in September (and 9/3 is more like August). People think of Seattle as a very wet place, but it's a fair amount drier than our area, annually speaking.

For those going to the game, any word on the impact of the early start on the planned alumni association Game Day event?

The PAC12 Network is a complete failure and it is the PAC12 fault. They refuse to partner with a network. They are stubborn and want 100% ownership. They bring barely $1 million to their teams.

I hope you're right. The Pac-12 Network is on Dish as well as AT&T U-Verse (is that available in NJ?). I've read that the final offer by DirecTV / AT&T last year would have paid the conference between $35 -- $40 million per year, but they also requested campus rights (the Pac-12 wants $75 -- $100 million per year for what AT&T offered). How much would SNY pay for the rights for this game vs. how much RU fans would scream at DTV to carry the network is the issue. The reason I don't think the P12N will sell the rights to SNY is because the negotiations broke down after the college football season began in each of the last two or three years and will likely do so again this year unless they reach an agreement. Selling this game to SNY during the negotiations will hurt their bargaining power.

Hmm, this is where dedicated games vs. another conference would help to expand conference networks. If we all played a PAC-12 home/away both networks could probably improve coverage in each other's territory.

Pac-12 Network is channel 712 I believe on the Comcast Sports Tier. That is not a high def channel. No reason since no-one watches that channel out here.

We have state of the art technology and our tech consultants and IMG are working with the PAC10 network to ensure that we are able to live stream the game. AS a back up plan I can have DISH Network installed on 10 days notice...#TheYard
