Prediction: Schiano’s first home game back here (even if midseason this year) will be a near-sellout.

Link?Lead Michigan State athletics reporter for sports illustrated has said that it’s not a matter of “what if” but “when” now that schiano deal will be announced but that he’s hearing it will be before the end of the season potentially
DittoIf GS is brought home, I know I'll be a part of 4 season tickets next season
GS needs to play this at arm's length and clean, he will not want to be perceived by coaching fraternity as pushing CA out mid season.
Bingo. This is why schiano decided against the Pats job...
Didn’t have a hard time in 17.GS had a hard time stopping spread offenses with OSU talent. Can't imagine what that would look like at RU now with everyone putting up points.
Meanwhile we'd be lining up in the power I.
It's 2019 not 2009.
There are better options, especially if we are going to pay the money that Schiano will command.
I have lot of respect for what he did here, and he is a legend in the program, but those days are over.
One guy who should get a long look is Buffalo's coach. That guy is is now.
Schiano, Leipold, Butch. That's it. Schiano is our best option out of those three.GS had a hard time stopping spread offenses with OSU talent. Can't imagine what that would look like at RU now with everyone putting up points.

Remind me the last year we went to a bowl game and how many Schiano led us to.Remind me what year that was?
schiano told ex coaches and friends he didnt want Beliechek to feel slighted as he was focusing on landing a HC job back in college. This is why schiano decided against the Pats job...
At this point it's Rutgers or nothing for Greg. Unless he wants to be a career DC. It's his best option. It's our best option. It couldn't be a better fit at this time.I think that probably most, maybe all of us, have had negatively feelings about Greg for either his game day coaching and or for leaving us for the pros. Regardless, I don't see any better choice right now than him.
He may feel as I do, that he had a dream opportunity to move on when he did. He now has a second chance. Another dream opportunity to come back and do it all over again. But this time, he's older and wiser. He will bring great things with him. He will be our Knute Rockne. Sorry, for babbling on here. We all need something good to dream about. Fact is, I actually actually beleive there is no one, I mean NO ONE, who could do the job better here than Greg.
You can't trust a guy who ends tweets the same way that the President of the United States answers questions about whether or not he's going to invade a foreign country.Lolz... yes he's a legit reporter for Spartan Nation.com - and covers MSU for SI... but, that's like going to Steve Politi for insight on the next Sparty coach.....
rumor at best ---
Greg should be very curious about where CA lands for his next stop, since that's clearly where he's going to be working after he gets fired from the Rutgers job in 2023.GS needs to play this at arm's length and clean, he will not want to be perceived by coaching fraternity as pushing CA out mid season.
He doesn't have to. He can just run football. That's all we need him to do.A lot has changed at RU too. Can Schiano exist where he is the football coach and not the guy running the whole athletic department?
Ash will land a DC in a power 5.Greg should be very curious about where CA lands for his next stop, since that's clearly where he's going to be working after he gets fired from the Rutgers job in 2023.
Don't assume that...he could just as easily be an analyst at the Saban halfway house or somewhere else with max salary of 50K.Ash will land a DC in a power 5.
Wouldn't be surprised if he gets us to 6-6 next year.GS can stabilize the program and restore passion to the fan base. He will not win right away but no one else will either. Urban Meyer could not win immediately with this talent.

I wouldn't guarantee the record but I think there are other coaches that could get us in the .500 area in a year or two. Look at Brohm at Purdue. Littrell got a 1 win UNT to 5 wins and bowl in his first year then 9 wins in his 2nd year. Scott Frost took a winless team to 6 wins and then undefeated in his first two years.Wouldn't be surprised if he gets us to 6-6 next year.
The only way out of this mess we're in right now is recruit, recruit, recruit. The O line and D line only became shambles from three straight years of piss poor recruiting. One guy can come in here and hits the ground running in that department and it's Schiano. Not Lance Leipold.GS had a hard time stopping spread offenses with OSU talent. Can't imagine what that would look like at RU now with everyone putting up points.

I agree but Leipod is starting to intrigue me. He beat Temple today. The only way out of this mess we're in right now is recruit, recruit, recruit. He's the only other coach that would be acceptable tbh. Don't know why he'd want to come here. I'm sure other programs would be way more attractive. He also doesn't bring instant hype to the program like Schiano.I agree but Leipod is starting to intrigue me. He beat Temple today.
Who?There are better options, especially if we are going to pay the money that Schiano will command.
In case you haven't noticed, Brown doesn't push the envelope on the BOG. He wanted GS a few times but GS didn't want to come back. That now may have changed.schiano told ex coaches and friends he didnt want Beliechek to feel slighted as he was focusing on landing a HC job back in college.
Hes working his plan.
Lets go Gregg Brown make this happen with Schiano.
Dont let Hollywood Hobbs F this up AGAIN!
New A lot has changed at RU too. Can Schiano exist where he is the football coach and not the guy running the whole athletic department?
He did what he had to do to get all of the peanuts of resources focused on his program. We now have plenty more $ and can address all programs. He doesn't need to to do all of what he did back then. But is that all he wants to do. He ran the department, to the detriment of other sports, when he was here last. That won't happen again.
Cant say that here lol.GS had a hard time stopping spread offenses with OSU talent. Can't imagine what that would look like at RU now with everyone putting up points.

No $hit. We need him to post. Hope he is still out there.Paging Marosy.... paging Marosy.... we need a GREG... JUST DO IT!!!!
Who?
PLENTY OF CANIDATES IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LOOK INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR NICK SABAN TO FALL ONTO YOUR LAP DEMANDING A $15/HR SALARY.
In case you haven't noticed, Brown doesn't push the envelope on the BOG. He wanted GS a few times but GS didn't want to come back. That now may have changed.
THATS BECAUSE RUTGERS IS SCHIANO'S ONLY OPTION FOR A HEAD COACHING JOB.
