Rutgers ... where there's always an excuse.Cooldude,
I think a difference here is that it is hard to find people here to take the tickets if you can't use them. The program is not at that point.

Kill yourself for being..........you.

This is pretty much true. However, back when we had many things to do on HC we were not selling out and parking spaces were not as much at a premium. Having said that the Yellow lot was pretty much empty all year last year so they can definitely do something over there for HC.homecoming has been virtually obsolete the last two years at RU...sure the noon starts suck the whole life out of it but RU virtually does nothing..the amount of tables and area set aside for homecoming are getting less and less and just blend in with anything else they are doing in athletes glen. Homecoming is supposed to be a special event but it seems like in the last 5 years its has just become another day and whoever is in charge of the homecoming committee needs to be put in mothballs and retired.
I'm happy we are well past the days when homecoming was one of the few games we filled our 23,000 seat stadium in any season.homecoming has been virtually obsolete the last two years at RU...

I do miss the giveaways like that. Do they still make the Homecoming buttons? Another thing I haven't noticed for a long time (and they may still do it) is selling t-shirts designed for that year's homecoming.I still use my '08 drawstring bag from homecoming. One of the best promotional ideas since the Block R. When RU had no money they still gave out Homecoming buttons. Now sadly it really is just another day. It would be nice to retain some tradition. Homecoming in November was frankly ridiculous.
And we sometimes didn't even do that!I'm happy we are well past the days when homecoming was one of the few games we filled our 23,000 seat stadium in any season.
NBC SportsWe are homecoming at 2 other B10 schools. Illinois seems to be everyone's homecoming this year.

The flip side on the noon start for HC means less belligerent drunks (I have been there) and hopefully less people skipping the game completely after drinking for 6 hours. A late arriving crowd is better than a non arriving crowd. My ideal game time is 3:30 PM but it's not make or break.
I'll take noon games over 8pm games anytime. With noon starts you get two tailgate sandwiched around a football game and you can still get home at a reasonable hour to watch even more football. Getting home at 2am doesn't excite me at all.
+1Yes Whitebus, once again we are on the same side but you think we are arguing. That is why I can only see your posts when I'm not logged in.
As somebody who championed that idea for quite sometime I have to say while the game day experience has changed for the better (in a HUGE way) the "event" thing has tempered as we have adjusted to being a B1G school. Michigan, PSU and OSU and the first time Wisky and Nebraska came here are looked on as events. The rest of the B1G skeds, well those depend on how that particular team is doing that season to qualify as such.IMHO it's NOT that Homecoming has changed, it's that EVERY game is now an "event" - as it should be and I've been saying since I worked for K-Mac - and Homecoming just SEEMS less "special."

Yeah, but only one of the people you mention is a moderator. No doubt I've gotten into a number of dust-ups over the years, but I've never made any comments as remotely nasty, personal and tasteless as that individual has. He's a total loose cannon.Let it go Chip. He made a stupid comment. The guy he made it to and you have made stupid comments. I have made some as well. Let it go.
