- Illinois is 5-1 so far in the season and ranked 24th.

- Purdue (#1) and Illinois are the only Big 10 teams ranked in the Top 25 in what appears to be a down year for Big 10.

- All of Illinois' 5 wins have been against Mid Majors with all by double digits. In fact, 4 of their 5 wins have been by 23 points or more.

- Illinois only loss was to #3 Marquette by 7 points at home.

- In an exhibition prior to the season opener, Illinois beat Kansas by 7 at home fwiw.

- Illinois is a Veteran Led Team with such key players including: Terrence Shannon (Grad - 19.5PPG) / Luke Goode (Jr - 9 PPG) /Coleman Hawkins (Sr - 6 PPG) / Dain Dainja (Jr - 10 PPG) / Marcus Domask (Grad 8 PPG).

- Obviously Shannon is the man for Illinois and we will need to defend him quite well.

- Illinois other key player - Coleman Hawkins - has only played 3 games to date and is only averaging 6 PPG so far as he has been injured. His knee is bothering him and he has not played in the last 3 games. Will be very interesting / important to see if he plays on Saturday.

- Another injury for Illinois is Redshirt Freshman G Niccolo Moretti who is out with a foot injury.

- After our game, Illinois plays in Jimmy V vs #13 FAU and then they travel to #10 Tennessee - so hopefully they're looking past us...:). Real tough 3 game sked for Illinois starting Saturday

- HC is Brad Underwood (the Undertaker).

- To date, Illinois has a FG % of 47% / 3 Pt % of 31% and FT % of 57% (hmmmmm - they may be worse FT Shooting team than us).

- Looked up Kofi and he's playing professionally in South Korea. He played HS Ball in Queens (NY) and thus I wonder if he's not in Korea - whether he travels to Piscataway to root for his alma mater.

Dainja was a problem for us and Cliff last year. Big, physical... Cliff giving up a lot of LBs to him. Hopefully we clean that up as I remember he was getting position on Cliff very low and scoring at ease. Him and the Nebraska center were real problems for Cliff last season. Happy to see that the Nebraska center is gone. He was crafty... very talented offensively.

Pretty sure we looked good and were beating Illinois last year until Cliff got in foul trouble. He went out and they went on an instant 10 point run or something along those lines... could be wrong
