Another mid week, OOC game, this time vs a pretty bad Rider team, (13-30, 4-11). LHP Jared Bellissimo (2-0, 5.28 ERA) gets the mid week start as usual. RU prepares for their big 3 game series at Penn St that starts Friday at 6:30pm.

Jared Bellissimo pitched eight scoreless innings with five hits and no walks. He had only thrown 94 pitches. The bullpen allowed five base hits for the first six batters in the ninth and then a bases-loaded five pitch walk. The final run came on a fielders choice.

Of course you've got to take the guy out whose pitching a shutout & hasn't thrown that many pitches. The modern day book says you should. What a load of crap.

Jared pitched great. hopefully he will be very good for RU going forward. We need to defeat Penn state this weekend if we want to have any chance of making the BIG Tournament.
