Washington at home. Don't count this as an automatic loss

What does our OLine look like next year and how does it get any better? If Grant comes back our skill positions instantly improve. Our defensive line loses 3 starters and they weren't exactly turning heads this year. Do our linebackers get better? Our secondary probably gets better. There are way too many questions.

I don't have any doubt RU's offense will be better next year, but Browning, even without John Ross, still comes back with most of his OL intact, both RB's, TE and is the only QB/Coach/WR combination that I think can scare Alabama out of the Final Four this year.....

Washington presents a unique opportunity for the staff to establish something positive to start next year, without the notion of winning the game....play a solid half of football, score a couple of TD's and hope for the best. Anything beyond that is just asking for problems, Washington figures to come east with all types of confidence after a playoff appearance and their recruiting is on a significant uptick as well.

I remember when temple played Virginia Tech about 10 years ago and they were like 25 point underdogs and Temple won. You never know.

You really think Chris Peterson is really flying all the way out here to lose? Not happening

Washington has made me so much money this year and I'm sure they'll continue the trend week 1 next season.

Dump OP

It's only been a week and here we go!
Extra Point will be the first one to say we have no talent and did you really expect us to play with them when we get blown out.

I was more thinking how worried I am about Eastern Michigan the next. week. They're pretty decent this year.

If we can't beat Eastern Michigan in our second game at home following the Washington game Hobbs needs to start a search for a new HC .

I see two. Morgan State and MAYBE EMU.

off-season is going to be hilarious if this keeps up. Washington is going to be at least s 35 point favorite.

They will destroy us game over by halftime and the boards will be on full meltdown mode. The many many closet talent evaluators and head coaches here will say how Ash and company had half a year to get ready and will be calling for his head and begging to hire that great head coach that's licking his chops to come here for 2.1 per year.

I am fearful of the impatience our fans are going to have. Next year without the lines and the LBs, we are going to lose alot by alot of points. Its going to get very very ugly. There will probably be more than 15 freshmen and redshirt freshmen on the two deep.

I will be very surprised if we lose to Washington by less than 40.

Alabama scored 14 defensive or special teams TDs this year; UConn & Rutgers each scored 19 offensive TDs this year

Next year will be rock bottom for this program. The schedule is absolute murder and we will have grauared some of our best players on the offensive and defensive lines. Fans will be frustrated and angry, no doubt. I see 2wins again. Ash will be two years into this rebuild at the end of next year. Will two additional years beyond that point make a huge difference? What will the ru fans see as success at the of 4 years ? Will ash simply run out of time?

Guys Please, no one on this board knows anything about next year, good or bad. Do you know if Grant will be back? Do we know how this years experience will impact the players next year, which ones will learn from it and improve and which ones will not? Do we know the caliber and positions of any game ready transfers? Do we know if we will have a kicking game? Do we know which redshirt freshmen and incoming recruits will be game ready and possibly make an impact? And, do any of you know how the staff will improve based on it's learning curve in their new jobs? NO, WE DON'T. Making predictions and statements about how good or bad we will be is premature and senseless.

As we learned this year, it all begins in the trenches, and this is where our greatest concerns are.
I like our defense, particularly the back 7.
If we can get some semblance of blocking from the OL, and with a strong receiving corps (Grant (please), Harris, Mitchell and a couple of others, and a healthy Gio or Oden or Lewis, we may be able to have an offense that is better than this year--but it needs to be MUCH better.

The D-line yes. The O-line we do lose guys, but by no means our best guys.

All around, I expect better next year then what we saw this year.

The lines are important, but imo the lack of WR talent was the most glaring issue once Grant went down.

With Grant and Mitchell I think that could turn pretty quickly.

As an unexpected twist of this season, I think the loss of Goodwin will be an issue.
