WNBA 2024 Season thread

It's common in many sports, but I was referring to the "betting line".

Imagine last night's Liberty game and how many people would have counted on NY resting all the starters?
Then the Dream nabs the last playoff spot by beating the top team in the League.
Betting on teams that already made the playoffs and might not need a win to improve playoff position is a losing propitiation because of how those teams will be resting their starters and giving the back-ups more playing time than they would have received in a meaningful game.

What's bad is when a team decides to tank games to increase their chances to have a great lottery pick in the draft .
End of season games sometimes makes betting on them more of knowing which team came to play and which one is tanking or just saving players for the playoffs

Tuesday games.
Liberty vs Atlanta, 7:30 ESPN Liberty lead series 1-0
Aces vs Storm 9:30 ESPN, Aces lead Storm 1-0

It was intentionally done, but absolutely isn't the first time Clark was targeted.

WNBA officiating might be the worst of any pro sport.

League officials need to acknowledge what elevated their viewership and attendance numbers this season and "protect" that investment.
If Clark is injured because of this thuggery and misses extended playing time next season, there will be no more sellouts in any WNBA arena.

Last night the Liberty beat Atlanta to take the series 2-0. Sabrina Ionescu caught fire and had 38. Next up Vegas, gonna be a tough battle.

NY Liberty blew a 15 pt lead in the 4th and lose in OT. They looked slow, and confused. Breanna Stewart managed to scrw up last play in regulation, and the OT. Brondello's continued misuse of Betnijah confuses me. 17,000+ at Barclay's was great. Can't shoot 37% and win against Minny, and let them shoot 50%, they have beaten you already this season. Minny coach Reeve has Brondello's number.

Reminder, game 2 NY Liberty(Betnijah) is on at 3 pm on ABC. Must game for NY as they lost game 1 at home. GO NY go.

Liberty win 80-66 over Lynx to tie the series 1-1. See what happens when you let Betnijah play. Great game with 20 points, and of course major D against the Lynx back court. Back to Minny now, and it won't be easy.
Oh, Geno at the game to see Stewart, and Collier.

It appears the WNBA sent a memo to officials before the game informing them who should win.

That foul call at the end of regulation will go down as one of the most egregious of a season full of horrible calls.

Absolutely brutal.
Even worse ..the League Commish shows up at the final game dressed in NU Liberty colors.
The winner was decided before the game began.
