Really hoping for big things out of Glasgow this year... his former hs teamm8, Lewis, just won junior gold... they were both ranked pretty closely as college prospects coming out of hs..

Realistically Lewis is so much ahead based on his technique and training.I am so impressed with the levels he has progressed and Vtech's coaching staff has done wonders with his talent.

Hopefully our coaching staff will do the same with Glasgow's talent.

Glasgow is a year behind Lewis in preparation (spent a time at St. Benedicts working on academics) and has experienced more than his share of injuries since leaving Benedicts. Will need patience with him and hope he stays healthy. He has great potential

Hearing the Gravina is having a slow recovery from summer surgery. Glad that Pagano is available. Pagano qualified for the NCAAs and has beaten Preisch. WNG what is the probability that Gravina will wrestle this season?

Definite maybe he will wrestle

Saw him at practice today. Arm looks good and range of motion improving and very good. He should wrestle but not early in season as he is not cleared yet.

Looked good in practice today all our kids. Good culture in that room. Kids are getting there.

I agree about Janzer as he will probably challenge at 174/84. He is tough and competitive as heck every day. Forgot about him Harley

First, for the wrestling experts, you guys are awesome, so much information. I have a few questions.

I assumed Glasgow has a really high ceiling, expecting AA too much year 1?
How is the other HW, I heard he is much improved, giving Colucci a run for his money, not saying Colucci doesn't start.

How good in Janzer, is there a chance he is too good to RS? I assume they can't RS him if he is beating the guys in his weight class at practice.

newRU, yes, it is too much to expect an AA as a freshman.

Glasgow was ranked 5 in his class at his weight. By that math, he is a R12 type guy as a "high end" expectation as a "true" freshman. I am not sure if he was wrestling at St. Benedicts, but he's had a year not training like an NCAA wrestler.

I believe in his ceiling for sure. But we also had really high expectations for Anthony Giraldo and he didn't execute.

There will be growing pains for sure.

Can't comment on HW, but as far as Janzer, if he isn't dominating guys in the room, let him take the year to train IMO.

First, again you guys are awesome - nice to be able to ask a question and get straight answers. I have tempered my expectations on Glasgow, especially being away for a year. But as HS wrestler is he our most accomplished guy outside of Suriano and Ashnault. I thought Glasgow won a national championship after winning his 2nd NJ state title, but maybe that was a less competitive tournament or something.

Not a knock on Glasgow at all. But think of it this way, Alex Marinelli was the pound for pound top 5 recruit, #1 or 2 as a RSFR and took 6th. A guy who has 4 people ahead of him in his class has an uphill climb. I just hope this year he wrestles hard, scores points, and shows a good gas tank.

Glasgow has a shot at being really good right away based on his speed/athleticism. Speed is a huge asset and remember he's a year older and should be a lot stronger than a true fr

Marinelli was rank 3rd p4p In his recruiting class..in final 2016-17 ranking HS ranking Glasgow was ranked 4th in his Weight class and flo’s #26 overall recruit of his class... Mekhi Lewis was ranked like 23rd or something... on a interesting note Correntti was ranked as the #19 recruit of his class on flo’s big board.. didn’t know he was ranked that High! I guess this makes Correntti one of our most accomplished guys outside of Suriano(3rd in his class) and Ashnault (7th or 8th prospect in his class).

From what I have read he did not wrestle any matches last year.If you compare that to Lewis and Marinelli who both wrestled a full year (redshirt) it makes a difference.Been older does not necessary help but a plus.I think he still needs a full year of wrestling before we see some gains in his sophomore year.I think no matter how he performs this season I am optimistic about his growth in year two.If he makes the NCAA this year then that would be surprisingly good.

Thanks guys. Having two super studs, and what feels like a deeper team, if we get even one surprise weight class - to the good - we can dream big. Love the passion of the wrestling fans.
