RU Deficit

NJ.com

Last year will be 70 million and this is before paying athletes 22 million.

Look at all the money schools are making off these kids.
Even OSU has a deficit:

“Ohio State’s athletic department reported an operating deficit of nearly $38 million during the most recent fiscal year, according to an annual financial statement submitted to the NCAA.

The athletic department spent a record $292.7 million from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, while it also saw a dip in overall revenue.

It brought in $254.9 million in total operating revenues over the period, a decline of $24.6 million from the previous fiscal year, contributing to the budget shortfall.”

Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

$5-10K donations are great - but very few people have that sort of disposable income to throw toward Rutgers athletics. The vast majority of people don't even have $5K in their savings account, let alone are able to part with that much for nothing in return. The number of Rutgers fans who are able to contribute on that tier or above is very small.

Most fans are able to chip in tens of dollars not thousands of dollars.

of course...was responding to someone saying his $5-$10K donation wouldn't matter...

however you want to tell me that the 17+ thousand people that made the trip to MSG couldn't pony up $25 a month or $300 a year? i went to msg and that is an expensive afternoon for a family of five. so i don't think that subset of the population is living in poverty. and if they all did give well that is five plus million right there.

of course getting one guy to pony up multi millions is ideal but don't tell me that smaller donations don't matter as well...esp from people who are here pointing out every possible negative thing about the program while not doing anything of substance to actually help it.

OT: NFL 2025 Playoff Games Thread

I doubt money has anything to do with it. Maybe people should just let all the Swift stuff go. Her very serious boyfriend is playing in the game and maybe she just wants to be a supportive girlfriend staying in the background as much as possible, so as not to be a distraction. She can't control the TV cameras - and if she really wanted more attention, I'm sure that doing the Super Bowl halftime show would be a great way to do that. I actually respect her for not doing it at a game her boyfriend is playing in. I'm sure she'll do some future one.
She's not the problem. The networks turning NFL telecasts into Access Hollywood is. Though to be fair, there were fewer cutaways to the suite in this game. They wisely gave the attention to a great matchup.

Izzo Pullover

The teams/athletes do have things that may not be available to the public. Although much of what you see is basic Adidas blank items that get embellished with Rutgers/team. We currently have two Adidas hoods. A grey one with RUTGERS and a black one that's basketball specific. ( the same as the team has ) I believe the MSRP for both is $75-$80. We price at $70 and barely sell them. they will end up on the clearance rack. the moral of the story is few folks want expensive Adidas items. I've seen it for years now. The result is then less offerings in that product category. The Adidas polos are nice and sell OK. The quarter zips and pullovers are nice and sell OK. The Adidas branded stuff can be purchased from a variety of places online. We're all guilty of simply clicking and ordering and letting it show up in a few days. Why bother driving or looking for a parking spot. Brick and mortar has been dying for a bunch of years. Scarlet Fever will focus on what the students want.
im into more softer ts like this one at rallyhouse

That's a Champion tri-blend. It's a very nice, soft and comfortable tee. We sell them for $28.95 with a different design. The basic Champion tee is awful to wear after a washing
