Seemed to me they really started feeding the ball inside when both of Merrimack's bigs got in foul trouble and both eventually fouled out.
I think there is some real potential there.MyDadisLame Coin
Right now Ace is almost only as good as his shot is falling. He may continue to make the shots he is taking. He is a shooting slump away from a guy that doesn't help us on the floor.
Punch in your town. It's right there for you. Thats base salary. Not including overtime, outside jobs, pension contributions, health insurance etc...Some cops may be pulling in $200K total in North Jersey or select towns.. but I doubt that’s the norm, or average across the state.
The average is probably closer to $150K.
If you’re talking about Wall and not ski country, sure there is but maybe the folks in Wall don’t want to pay for another elementary, middle or even another high school. Along with paying for the teachers and support staff that come with it.First off, there is A LOT of land to build in that area. Secondly, people will make decisions, no doubt, but it will make a lot of decisions that overlap with the complainers on affordable housing. More young people will want to work remotely. They will not return to their hometowns. They will visit their parents less and less.
I really struggle with the idea that building condos, making them an affordable price, and putting a deed restriction like "public employee" or "grew up in town" will be ruinous. But not my issue. I could afford to move back where I'm from...but wouldn't barring an exigent circumstance. And, a kid where I live has teachers and public servants that have options on where to live. I was heartened though that the mayor realized it's a problem. Eventually more will.

A single person making $150k should only be paying $450 on a home. And if that buys you a 2 BR condo what else do you need? Now if you add an additional income, bringing the income to $200+ you are now talking $600k and you can afford many starter homes within Wall and the surrounding area (10 miles). Trust me I know I live in this area. My niece who is a cop in Mercer county purchased a home (by herself in the last 2 years) in this area had no issues finding more than enough options within her price range of $400-500k. Its not perfect but she knows its an entry point home.No doubt...my point is nowhere even remotely proximate. Also, even say 150. Typically it's recommended you spend 3x income on a home. That is 450k, which is maybe a small 2 bedroom condo if you are lucky.
I am talking if people want to start a family (which young folks are told they need to take more seriously). If you want to move to Hoboken or JC and have a roommate, it's doable, and fun. I am also responding to the idea that people cannot move back where they came from. To me, that seems bad. Also seems bad to be a cop or teacher in a community but then be essentially shut out of it.
I don't think you guys are giving these other players enough credit. This Clark kid and bashir from Monmouth are good players. They will cook regardless of who's guarding when they are making shots. Acuff had a broken foot a couple of months ago, Ive never seen him play before but I'm guessing he doesn't have all of his mobility yet, jwill is finding his new role within this new roster. There will be nights when derkack goes 2/6 because he is not a go to player on this team. He won't be perfect every night and he won't get enough volume on nights he is shooting poorly, like yesterday. Ace and Dylan are the only players that will get enough volume to overcome bad shooting nights. Hayes and martini from 3 also...but everyone else has to get comfortable with their roles on this team...let's see how they look moving forward, I don't even think the coaches are using the normal rotations they would use when competition increases..No debate at all. Irony and hypocrisy compared to last year. Fair topic and was in a game thread where Pike quickly pulled player and many fans making exact same comments. SMH.
Team didn’t look bad at all? We play like last night in the B1G or in Vegas, we are not going to win and may get blown out.
Some positive signs, Ace showed his enormous talent. Dylan in an off game was still pretty darn good. O had his best game. Derkack nice all around game.
Some negative signs, While Sommerville has some nice moves he is becoming a black hole and no D whatsoever. Might want to nip that now. JMac was horrible defensively. No sugar coating that. Derkack can’t go 2-6. We’ve been burned defensively by Monmouth and Merrimack. I shudder what might have happened had Merrimack hit its threes.
I’ll give Acuff and Williams a pass as not sure healthy yet. Martini and Hayes need more shooting touches.
A W is a W and we will only get better but yesterday was a rough watch save for Ace and some Dylan. Nobody is panicking.
Ogbole drew 5 fouls on guys as well, the post was where the opportunities were last night. Martini is wide open on all his three's, no one is following him out there. Hayes is getting extra attention.Would you as an opponents coach, leave PJ Hayes open, leave Martini open OR prefer to have Sommerville go one on one in the post......he literally fouled out a Merrimack player with 16 minutes left in the game.
You have to take what opponents provide you as options to score and take advantage.
I am pretty certain that I explained that there's a way to defend shooters who do not prove as offensive players that they can also score off the dribble. And if that player is NOT a plus defender, there will be games where Hayes and Martini are taken away.
The Merrimack game plan was to stay attached to shooters and make RU beat them off the dribble and in the post.....RU essentially did that, without much fanfare, especially when I'm fairly certain that if Sommerville plays 26 to 27 minutes, he finishes with 16 and 10 rebounds.
RU is totally a work in progress right now. Hopefully they will improve a lot as the season progresses. But certainly right now, we are no where near deserving a Top 25 ranking. That ranking is based on the hype surroinding Dylan and Ace and the promise they bring. Whether that promise is ever realized depends on Pike and his ability to get these players to buy-in and improve substantially as a team, especially on D.I see where this has been stated by the talking heads. Have to think a performance like last night would certainly help to lead to that assessment.
We play a team that is 4-1 on Sunday at their place. I think this will be a watershed kind of game for us. We better show up with a lot more fire in our bellies if we want to win this one.
I never noticed it for years, until one day I did. 🤷♂️On the flip side, as I noted above, the odors (and sometimes overflow) from SMRSA stink too.
The game plan is funneling shot attempts to him, he actually should have had more touches.....it is funny how someone calls a player a black hole, when he fouls out one center and gets to the FT 6 times in 18 minutes. And paradoxically with Lathan shooting so much, it’s not only away taking shots away from Acuff, Hayes and Martini it’s taking away shots from Dylan and Ace.
BTW The big O was a plus +15 yesterday.
David was -2. Food for thought.

I think we need to wait and see once we play against the big boys. It’s really hard to win in college basketball. Clark is a high major point guard. No way he stays at Merrimack. That was one of the best games I’ve seen from a point guard in terms of balancing when to get to your shots/when it’s time to pass to a teammate. I’d argue he’d be a starter on pretty much any team in the country right now. It wasn’t bad defense it was tough shot making. I also don’t think he cooled off, they started having J Mike just face guard him 94 feet lol. Ultimate sign of respect. You don’t see that very often in college.
st Peter’s had a great game plan coming in of iso basketball on any mismatches. Worked well til Rutgers adjusted and guards fought over guard to guard screens instead of switching.
Monmouth kid was good I don’t think he was 38 points good but he had it going.
Biggest takeaway for me is these guys have shown that they are capable of making in game adjustments. 2nd halves have all looked better. That’s not usually the case for a young team. It’s really easy to fold to adversity when you haven’t been in that situation before. You cannot teach what ace and Dylan can do offensively but defense will only improve as they all get more games under their belt. In the past it’s been the other way around where we literally had to play defense because we couldn’t do what this team is doing offensively.
It’s also just a different style now. This team is going to play faster, there will be more possessions, which means there will be more chances to be scored on.
If bigs can be solid on defense then this team is really good. We have athletic guards that will go help rebound.

I know you aren't going to say anything negative....I understand and respect. Will this happen in the next 2 months? If bigs can be solid on defense then this team is really good. We have athletic guards that will go help rebound.
What's the coin?My son started a crypto club at school a few weeks ago and he and his buddy already created their own coin. This industry is a joke. What could possibly go wrong…?
