I agree that it mattered a lot more pre NIL, but I think academics still mean a lot for some/many who realize their son may or may not make it to the NFL. And certainly that includes underrated HS players who aren’t four or five star (rating of which is not an exact science). I guess my bottom line is that academics in most cases may not be the main driver, but still is an important factor and something we should strive to continue in pursuit of excellence.

Depending on who they lose to. If Drake picked up three Q3/Q4 losses, that would probably drop them out of consideration. There are several landmines in the MVC that you definitely don't want to lose to.

RU has known about the shared utilities since forever. Why decommission the only dining hall on the main campus if you weren't ready to tear it down? Why leave an ugly tarped up site for years in the middle of your main campus? How about Ford Hall. It's been vacant for years. It also has the red X in box symbol on the doors signifying a vacant hazard. Not a great look, again, right on College Ave, on your main campus. Are we that rudderless? Are we that broke? Are these rhetorical questions?

definitely the bottom of the league proving to be better...i think things are developing into tiers yet beyond the top 7 now that UCLA is on a course correction and then maybe a cut below Ohio State with a monstrous win for their resume and Maryland a talented enigma. Those are your likely 9 NCAA schools competing for bids. One from the next group of 9 could challenge. Indiana decent overall conference mark but getting wacked when playing to the top tier. Nebraska has been fading as has Iowa and I dont think the others are consistent enough to do anything

Umm…not to disparage Shayne who seems like a wonderful young man and who is a phenomenal wrestler but you do realize he has 60 wins to go to tie Goodale’s college victory total. Shayne has 39 wins, Goodale ended up with 99. These win totals are comparatively irrelevant but it’s amazing to me how people just say stuff without having any clue whether what they are saying is accurate.

Vandy is probably a tournament team. Beating them on a neutral floor is a huge signature win on Drake’s resume. Bradley doesn’t have a win like that. Drake also won at Bradley which is a better win than any of Bradley’s wins (the SF win is decent but I think it was at home). And they have one less loss which is important too. I don’t think it’s splitting hairs - Drake clearly has the better profile right now (in terms of Bradley having a clean profile, Drake doesn’t have any Q4 losses - just one Q3 so still pretty clean).
