No, not a big deal. But Pike wouldn’t specifically say the team was healthy if Ace has the flu. Canned, regurgitated excuse.

not really. it cripples federally funded biomedical research everywhere.

It’s an anti-science, anti-education flex and sticking it to NIH for the Covid recommendations, all for the low IQ yahoo voter base despite the obvious benefits and truths of those things.

Did Ace diagnose himself in the first half ha ha ha ?

If Ace has the flu, Pike would have known and not said otherwise.

Not remotely the same thing. Fringe is a direct cost on research budgets based on a rate applied to salaries to proportionally cover benefits.

Overhead is not a direct cost. It’s cost not directly applicable to individual studies (Compliance staff, computers, electricity, university administration etc. ) The fed govt is cutting off funding for these necessary things…

Federal Overhead rates are determined by cost analyses by fed govt accountants for each university.

Cutting overhead by more than half cripples research capability.

You could throw Bon Jovi out there at 62 and every person in the entire stadium would be out of their seat singing to Livin on a prayer.

Then we’d be hearing where’s the diversity, why is the art form/cultural statement known as rap/hip hop omitted…

A really great Temptations/Four Tops cover band would have the entire stadium rocking 😊….real talent.

Good recap - I touch on a lot of similar themes in my post mortem posted a little bit ago.

One thing I will add, from my post mortem: Even with bailey at just 4 points, RU had drawn to 53-56 with 13 minutes left in the game with even an ill Bailey in the line-up. It all fell apart after he went to the bench to stay. I think Bailey had a big impact on the game when he was in, even not scoring and even ill. His presence drew defensive attention, he provided length and rebounding - and a couple of steals - on defense, and he had 3 assists - he was play-making even though he was not taking shots. Credit to MD for defending him well, but he drew a lot of double teams when he was in, and was willingly passing the ball to open teammates.

Yes, we can acknowledge that the staff has been horrendous at putting together rosters out of the portal. But we also have to acknowledge the lack of resources they’ve had to work with. Rather spreading the dollars thin, might be better to concentrate the dollars to get fewer players, but with better chances of success.
