Another off season begins...

My Rutgers fandom only goes back to 1990 or so but I seriously don't remember a season that had this much hype end up being such a figurative disaster. Two projected NBA lottery picks and we're pretty much one of the worst teams in the B1G.

Well…I hate them less than Penn State…which I hate less than Notre Dame (even though I like Marcus Freeman damn sight more than I like Franklin and Day).

Go B1G!!!! Win it all so that we can listen to the agony of the SEC/ACC slurpers at ESPN!

Likely Miami bound per Matt Zenitz. I guess the buyout too much for ru to overcome.

I believe this year is the first year that you can have a max of 45 players. If it's next year don't kill me. Looks like we have 51 players on the roster currently. Perusing a few other schools rosters, there are a number with more than 45. It's going to be interesting to see how that gets managed moving forward.

Lacrosse isn't the only sport. It seems D1 college sports HC's are more General Managers than coaches now. Where and to whom do funds get deployed to and constructing and managing rosters seems more pressing that actual coaching for the HC.

Wouldn't shock me if schools start hiring actual General Managers for football and have head coaches report to them while the rest of the dept is run by an athletic director.

First up, Mike Houston- fired on October 20, after going 2-10 in 2023 and starting at 3-4. Since his firing ECU has reeled off 3 straight wins.

Mike Bloomgren- Rice- fired on October 27. Temple's former QB EJ Warner transferred to Rice and has been the starter this year.

Brian Bohannon- Kennesaw State- fired Nov. 10. Led the team for 11 years got them from FCS to FBS. Fired after going 1-8.

Mike Neu- Ball State- fired after going 40-63.

Its very early so there is going to be alot of wackiness though it is useful to see some trends especially with respect to schedule strentgh. There will certainly be some sort of ridiculous small school outlier in the top 30 and some major school languishing in the 200 range.

The majority of Schiano assistant coaches have elevated their careers. While Fran Brown was already on the rise, he went to Georgia then to head coach. Coach H is now a head coach at UMass. Heatherman got a DC role. The same way you want your players to go onto the NFL, it’s a good sign when your coaches are sought after. The Gleeson hire was terrible in hindsight but he nailed the KC hire. What Flats did with the offensive line is nothing short of a miracle.

Passed away Friday at the age of 89. Sam & Dave was one of the great soul acts of the late 60's.

The B1G is aligning with the MPSF for BTN/BTN+ coverage of both men's volleyball and women's beach volleyball in the spring. I can see the B1G grabbing Cal and Stanford as B1G affiliate members in women's beach volleyball once Grand Canyon U leaves for the Big 12 in the sport.

The new Flo high school rankings are out.
Hamilton a senior - unlimited ranked # 3. Can he do both or will it be footbal?
White a senior 145lb ranked # 15
Chletsos a junior 132lb ranked 13th
Soldano a junior 182 ranked 4th

No other recruits ranked by Flo

It seems that our recruiting has fallen off. Are we saving money for Shane Griffith? What do you think?
