MVB looks really small for 157

Eidt,
Down 10-0 after one...wrestles a solid 2nd
Down 12-2 after 2 (Late reversal)

Just watched the match he got destroyed. We could really use Sutton at 197 next year. Even if he can only come for 2nd semester.

Brenner now on mat 2.
Edit: He just got decked.

I think our guys have only won one match at this thing.

Not a good showing, but at least those 3 actually went. Where were Aguilar, Janzer , Lightner, Firestone , etc ? If hurt, that's understandable. I'm watching Shane Griffith wrestle now, from Stanford, via Bergen Catholic, a 12 hour round trip plane ride. New Brunswick to Syrna, Del is a 2 hour drive each way.

WOW.....Where is Seth Gross Rumored to go?
I would think PSU/Ohio State would be a good fits for him (OK. State has Fix)

Does he get his 6th year?

Thanks for the information. I was hoping to see Janzer any word why he couldn’t wrestle?
I'm curious about this too...
Guessing he transfers to Wisconsin with his old coach.

Interesting merger. Makes sense.

This is how I want 133 to be ranked for NCAA

1) Fix
2) Suriano
3) Phillippe
4) Miccic
5) Desanto
6) Finesilver

That would really send a message about defaulting out of the Conference tourneys.
I would think that Miccic will get a 2 seed, but IMO, he took 2 losses at the conference tourney...drop him to 4th.

Whoever gets Desanto in the Qtr's will be at a disadvantage to the amount of effort you have to put in wrestling him.

That would be amazing for Nick. Easy path to the finals. Not happening, unfortunately.

Yeah, I forgot Lizak beat DeSanto...Does he jump him?

1) Fix
2) Suriano (Winning B10)
3) Miccic (2 losses - defaults at B10)
4) Phillipe
5) Lizak
6) Desanto
7) Finesilver
8) Tairq WIlson

That is probably more like it.

Good overview on the Tournament in general from Flo, hope it's not hidden behind their paywall, if so , mention it, and I'll delete this:

I completely agree with his take that Finals should be a lone event for B1G's just like NCAA's. They should not be sharing the spotlight with 3rd/4th place bouts. Like he states, understandably the home crowd wasn't even into the finals match of Suriano/Pletcher rather they were watching and cheering for the Lizak/DeSantos match. He's right that's not how you should treat a B1G championship bout and it should be the lone ending event.

Rewatched the match and thought the same thing. The ref holds up Nick’a arm in victory and the crowd is roaring but you can see they are all looking at the other mat. That is terrible for the championships of the top wrestling conference in the country. All around bad job by the B1G.

The Big 12 tournament has the finals as a lone event, on the big stage. Much more viewer friendly.

Good article, but could have done without the dig at Rutgers football

didn't see it as a dig at Rutgers Football... Think he was just making the point that all these bigger football players would think twice about messing with a 133lber the likes of Suriano… Put Suriano on any other team and he makes the same comparison using that particular program

Final rankings of all our Wrestling commits (flowrestling rankings) :

2019:

JoJo Aragona- #1 at 138 in country, #9 Overall Pound for pound (all weight classes) PS- Aragona will wrestle Friday at the Pittsburgh Classic.

Jackson Turley- #6 at 182 in the country.

Robert Kanniard- # 10 at 160 in the country

Dylon Shawvyer -#14 at 126 in the country

Cody Harrison- unranked at 152, 3rd in NJ

Devon Britton- unranked at 138:

2020:

160- Connor O'Neill - # #14 at 160 in the country (only 2 other 2020s ahead of him)

182- John Poznanski- #12 at 182 in the country

I hope I got them all.

IS RU close to any other 2020 targets?
Still waiting on the elusive heavyweight.
I would think we need a stud lower weight to replace Suriano (133/141 range).

Nicely done. Thanks.

I think Shawver is a junior and class of 2020.

AJ Ferrari. Bergen Cath / Blair, a legit stud at 184 or 197 in college.

He is not only legit but he’s a true blue chipper... same lvl recruit as SVN... we need him badly

Getting 1 of these 2 would be amazing, getting both would be phenomenal. These 2 could possibly help RU so much (plus getting the younger Ferrari) it could vault RU to a top 5 program by 2021 w a few other good wrestlers hopping aboard. By then both Aragona and Turley are upperclassmen vets.
Almost too much to hope for, but they are both mentioning RU at the moment , and our new facility should be ready by next season.

Aragona will be wrestling in the Pittsburgh Classic this Friday night, streamed on FloWrestling.
Pennsylvania will have 285 Kawam Deboe, the 10th ranked Heavy, and highest ranked (#10 uncommitted Senior 285 in the country (not sure if RU is targeting him, or what his post HS plans are, he was a very good football player, but did not commit anywhere).

Nickal and Nolf are $5 buys, Suriano is a $3 buy, Ashnault??? They have him at a $2 buy! WHT??? Give me a boat load of $2 buys on AA!!!!
