Thankfully, I'm sending my JV coaches.

I doubt he will too, but he could take an Olympic redshirt by placing top 3 at nationals, even if he doesn't really try to qualify. And he still has his regular redshirt, if he wants as well.

Yes he still has regular redshirt.

You are forgetting the AND....he also has to place top two in the U23 World team trials.

Top three at the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championship; or NCAA champion from a previous year AND top two from the 2019 U23 World Team Trials (must accomplish both).

I read that differently. If you finish top 3 in 2019 nationals, then you don't need to finish top two in the 2019 U23 World Team Trials. The AND was for NCAA champion from a previous year, and assumed you didn't place top 3 in 2019 nationals. Here's how I break down criteria 3 you posted above:

1. Top three at the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championship; or

2. NCAA champion from a previous year AND top two from the 2019 U23 World Team Trials (must accomplish both).

I'm reading it the way You are. it seems as though they should break that criteria into two separate criteria so there would be five easy to understand criteria.

ASHNAULT APPROACHING ALL-TIME MILESTONE
• Ashnault owns 112 career victories, good for fourth all-time in program history. With a win Sunday against Michigan, Ashnault will tie Rod Van Ness (1994-98 and Dominic Cerreto (1986-89) for second on the RU wins leaderboard.
• Ashnault needs just six wins to surpass Mike McHugh (1986-89) for the most wins in program history at 118.https://scarletknights.com/…/no-18-wrestling-closes-home-du…

Beat Baby Bannister, 3 Wins in B10's and a run to the NCAA semifinals and he will be #1

Luke Pletcher beats Ben Thorton from Purdue 2-1
Hands to the face in 3rd period gives Pletcher a win.

LP stalled the whole 3rd period.

Waiting to watch 149...

Meh, Jordan pins Fillius with a cradle in 1st

DeSanto Tech falls Konrath in the 1st period. His move to Iowa was a smart one, his improvement over last year is very apparent, he just needs control his impulses, if possible.

Sorry if this was mentioned anywhere else but if it wasn’t, I asked Leo at today’s skull session if Pagano was applying for a 6th year medical redshirt. And as expected he has applied. Won’t hear anything until after the season, maybe April.

This is why they didn’t honor him before the match with other seniors.

Getting Pagano for a 6th year would be huge. Maybe compete with Janzer at 184 and if he can't beat Janzer out bulk up to 197. Goodale did a hell of a job navigating the dual season with all the injury problems the team has had. Only one dual loss to a team not ranked in the Top 10 and that was extremely early in the season vs Utah Valley.

Couldn't help but be amused by this shirt, given that he's paired HIS name with "Iowa Style" wrestling. [roll]

To those that post on the PSU forum, I'm sure that this would fit nicely under the thread, "Why Twitter is Great." Feel free to use it.

Wow Pic packs Lee. Ok St. up 6-0. Pic looked so much better than Lee and really wanted it. Now onto Desantos match.

That was 2 for Fix. Desantos raising the stalling fist during the match. Refs blow balls in Oklahoma as well.

This is why I don't get to caught up in the hype of a wrestler after one solid tournament. Lee was going to go undefeated the next 3 years and win 4 titles... well he already has 2 losses and just got packed. Does it mean he doesn't win it all in March? Not at all... but guys can get hot in the sport and go into funks as well. Only a handful of Cael Sandersons and Kyle Dakes in this sports history.

Desanto goes down to Fix. Suriano should have beaten his ass a month ago. Hopefully Suriano gets his head and offense straight and comes back strong in B1Gs and makes a title run.

Wow Okie St. pounded them. 27-12. The Picc and Rodgers pins really put this one out of reach. For some reason even though they're in the B1G I like to see them lose.

what an incredible picture ha

No better day than seeing the Sqwawkers get their butts handed to them (well, maybe PSU and MInnesota too).

I like how all of this plays out for my pesky UNI Panthers.

They're in the B1G? Hard to tell, since they didn't wrestle Michigan, tOSU or PSU this year. I know scheduling isn't their fault, but it's ridiculous that they avoid those three.

Can’t see it

LOL, I will summarize.

125- Metzlar seeded 14 (out of 14)
133- Suriano seeded 3
141- Lipari not seeded (The number of auto qualifier slots determines if the seeds go to the Top-8 or if the entire weight class is being seeded. Every weight will have eight seeds, even if the conference is given fewer than eight spots at a given weight. However, if any weight guarantees more than 8 spots to the national tournament, then the entire weight will be seeded.)
149- Ashnault 1
157- JVB 11 (this weight class is STACKED))
165- Glasgow 12
174- Grello not seeded
184- Gravina 10
197- Correnti not seeded
285- Colucci not seeded

Suriano is going to have a tall order wrestling both 133 and 149. I suggest he just concentrate on 149 as he's seeded 1st there.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
