many upsets at 149 this week.
If Kolo can win his tourney, he should be #3.
I don't see him slipping to #4
(O'Connor gets beat by Finesilver, Mauller gets beat, Lugo beats Gfeller)

Flowrestling will be streaming it. So far FloArena doesn't have entries or brackets up. Chances are participants and brackets won't go up until the morning of March 2, or night of March 1.

Would love to see Aguilar, Robinson, Firestone if healthy , Janzer and Lightner there among others. Lightner's status has been very, very quiet.

See entries below:

No Rutgers entries yet.

We should have a bunch. I know MVB said he would wrestle 149 in it
I looked at registered wrestlers there this morning and saw none from RU ...I see RU transfer Cleary is there for Rider but so far none of our guys yet...don’t be surprised if MVB goes 157 .....just a hunch

157 is a pretty big jump from 141

He has been doing his best to stay at 141 with a diet that sucked his strength ..he hasn’t been anywhere near 141 for a couple weeks now and 149 will more then likely be where he goes next year unless he gets huge with weights and gets to wrestle without sucking so much weight ..it was a valiant effort this year but ala Dippery it was just too much weight to suck ...too much talent there to write him off ..if you remember he knocked off some really good kids last year at 149 as well as some good kids at tournaments ..we shall see

I’d love to see MVB wrestling carefree at a weight that suits him. He has a ton of potential. If I were him and could afford/procure the funds, I would try to negotiate a way to spend a few weeks at Askren’s academy in Wisconsin this summer to refine his scrambling and top skills
(maybe offer to be a counselor; I did that at Camp Jackson to offset costs back in the day). Closer to home I would work with Downey and DeLuca on upperbody stuff from neutral. Lastly, I would bug AA every chance I got to help me get better on bottom. I would literally start every practice underneath until I felt good getting out. MVB also has a great single leg that, with a little more confidence and crisper finish can be a great weapon. This is a lot of talk coming from an average, at best, former college wrestler, but it’s just my two cents. Just want the best for these guys.

I am rooting for MVB!

Go RU!

Did I call that or what ..all ya had to do was see the size he put on after getting off that diet...hopefully his strength is back too...he registered at 157 for this weekends tourney ...good luck MVB

our entries at the NCO

133 Malcolm Robinson Rutgers Unattached
157 Mike Vanbrill Rutgers Unattached
157 Jake Benner Rutgers Unattached
184 Billy Janzer Rutgers Unattached
197 Kyle Lightner Rutgers Unattached

What happened to our 125lb freshman. Is he gone or hurt? Harley hit the nail on the head with MVB. Is Harley the new WNG?

Harley, What weight do you see him next year 149 or 157?

Depends on how big he gets with summer workouts I assume ...would not surprise me if 157 is where he settles ...don’t forget he had success at 149 in some open and freestyle tournaments and his going to 141 was because AA chose to go 149 ..sucking that much weight to get to 141 just didn’t work and now I hope he gets chance to display his talents at a weight where he doesn’t have to deal with weight at all ..I saw him last summer and he was ripped ..he did not look healthy at 141...who knows he just might replace his brother at 157 next year

No ...there is only one WNG!!

MVB at 157 will not beat Glasgow at 157, which I think is SG's natural weight.

Maybe, Maybe not. And if MVB goes 157, wouldn't he be at his natural weight also? Nobody really knows what Glasgow will do next season. This season did not really give us a good look...wrestling up, injuries etc. If it is close or MVB beats him, Glasgow can redshirt.

And let's not forget Robert Kanniard, currently 160 at the NJ States Tourney. Who knows if he'll be a 157 or 165 in college. This is very, very good as well.
While chances are he redshirts, you never know.

Keanburg's Tyree Sutton is the #1 seed in the 197 pound division of the Junior College National Championships which take place March 1-2. He will begin with a first round bye, which is helpful since it looked like he lost steam as he progressed through the tourney last year. The event is being shown on Flo.

Did not see Janzer or Lightner in brackets at NCO
Saw 3 entries
Malcom Robinson (Mat 6)
and MVB, Benner

M Robinson gets ridden like a mule (Why choose bottom in 2nd after being ridden over 2 minutes in first?

Gets pinned in second

MVB ties it up late with 2 stall calls and then gives up 2 at the buzzer.
Loses in 1st round.

He looked short compared to his opponent.

157- MVB beat Friery of Penn St, 4-0. Same kid Benner beat. Not sure if Benner faces MVB next.

Seems like there's about 20 guys from Rider there, lol. What happened to the rest of our guys?
