DeLuca lost his consi match. Not exactly sure what happened. It was tied at 10 and I think he got pinned, but there was some confusion at the end. DeLuca looked surprised when they stopped the match and raised his opponent's hand. I am not familiar with Greco-Roman rules and scoring.
Lightner wins 7-4 against Blair Senior O Trephan
He was up 7-0 and he got sloppy on the edge to make it 7-2
From there it looked like he tired and was content holding on for the W

Flo said DeLuca was disqualified tied at 10. No idea why and I watched the match.

The guys on the Flo podcast mentioned Richie Lewis as a darkhorse in his weight class.
SKWC and Sunkist Wrestling club have the same initials. The guy who wrote that on FB hates RU, but he is usually in the loop being a moderator for that forum.
RU roster still has Lightner on it, and they are usually very fast removing a name when a player or wrestler is no longer on the official roster:

Also, just watched his match he is wearing an SKWC singlet not a Sunkist singlet(Flo Bracket just listed him wrong.) Leo was in corner

OK ok , 79 kg, lol. The RU haters on the FB NJ Wrestling forum got me fired up. They are knowledgeable fans which makes it even worse, for some reason 40 years ago, they became Lehigh ,Penn St, Cornell, Iowa fans, and hate to this day that RU has now come full circle, not only joined the Big10 but is recruiting like hell, has National Champs, and will be a terrific team for many years . They hate New Brunswick, they hate the diversity that RU embraces, they are jealous, but they know RU is on the rise, and they take subtle shots at us.
I'm on the watch! I challenge and retort everything they post. I have spears and shields ! And I have the support of many RU fans when I openly call them out on their bullcrap.
Things have changed !! RU Wrestling is more than relevant now, RU Wrestling here to stay !
For what it’s worth Lightner weighed in at 206 today. Like others said he will be competing for the 197 spot this year.
I wouldn't say he killed Colon.They both looked like they where struggling with each others strength..more Colon than Suriano( which makes me wonder how strong Suriano really is).Colon was tiring and looked over at the clock and Suriano capitalized on it.From that point, it looked pretty even.Suriano must be a horse,because Colon is brutally "of the hook" strong.He looked like he was fighting off 10 men against Nicky Balboa.
Wng,who do you see manning the 197 and heavyweight spots? I think Colucci( although I may eat road kill for saying this)will come back bigger,stronger and more confident his Senior year.He hung in there with the lower half of the top 10 guys.He is a total cerebal wrestler. Has all the tools to be an AA,but lacks that killer instinct, which puts him on the lower half. Correnti is a mess.One day he is taking it to a guy like Brucki,the next he is loosing to a Mich. State backup. He is actually the one guy I want to see have a break out year.He is without a doubt the least cautious wrestler on the team,which makes him fun and frustrating to watch every week. Lightner..not sold on this guy.Seems to be just ho-humming his way through his RU career.Janzer has got all the tool,but didn't seem very savoy or disciplined.He has one gear..move forward,which made him predictable,ala getting taken down alot.If Janzer becomes a threat from different angles,he could be lethal.
Lightner has not wrestled a match for RU so it is a little early to be ho-humming his way through his career.
I do like Correnti and he is fun to watch. I wonder who will win the 97 spot and hold it down until Ferrari comes :)
