3/8 BACATOLOGY: NCAA TOURNAMENT ANALYSIS

OK, how about this then, Indiana, Kentucky and Duke all not in the tournament in the same year.
1974

However, if UCLA somehow slips out of the field, you have to go back to 1947 for a tournament without any of those four programs.

Duke has only five appearances before 1978; four in the 60s and one in the 50s.

Indiana only made it once between appearances in 1958 and 1973.

Kentucky is the all time leader with 56 appearances.

Does a Seton Hall win today bump them to last 4 in line or do they need to win championship?

If we played Loyola 10 times we’d beat them at least 8. Maybe my bias is showing.

Loyola would be fine, their big guy would have problems with Myles.

Wichita State in trouble down 8 with 7 and change to go. A loss to USF would poison their thin resume

this would be a Quad 4 loss although it probably becomes a Quad 3 tomorrow

lol of course the refs aid Wichita State to this win....USF lost it with some earlier possessions that came up empty.

Wichita State certainly looks shaky as they head to the semis tomorrow

For seeding purposes root for this...

Purdue over Ohio State
Tennessee over Florida
Nevada over San Diego State
USC over Colorado
Iowa over Wisconsin
Creighton over Connecticut
Oregon State over Oregon
Mississippi over LSU
Arkansas over Missouri
Rutgers over Illinois

Florida loses to Tennessee , I see RU and Florida pretty close in seeding right now

Cincy beat SMU so that eliminates SMU from any NCAA consideration

Oregon State upsets Oregon and now will meet the winner of Colorado/USC tomorrow night

we have two potential bid stealers lurking as Oregon State and Georgetown are lurking in the shadows

LSU beats Ole Miss and that pretty much ends their realistic hopes

UNC and UConn fall so hopefully RU can get seeded better than both but I have a feeling UConn will be seeded better.

San Diego State taking care of Nevada

late night games to come....Colorado State/Utah State who is staying up for that one

oh and last night listened to Bill Walton on Cal/Colorado and its just a rite of passage every tournament week in March....missed it last year

Well, with USC/Colorado still being played, 5 of those worked out in our favor, I guess?

not bad and add in Maryland losing. Still with our beating tonight its not like we did well. I think we are looking at a 9 or 10 at the end of the day and there really isnt much difference in level of play between 7 and 8 and no I am not worrying about the 2nd round at all.

Who is still alive? I believe Oregon State and Memphis so they can win their tournaments and steal bids.

Oregon State has more quality wins than UCLA unfortunately its the two Q4 losses that will prevent them from an at large...if they were 17-10 they would likely dance

hope they steal a bid tomorrow
