Our Football team is in good hands with the men we have in place to make a statement in support of their chastised Head Coach. No, the coaches have not changed but the boys will now show their mettle. These young boys have been groomed by this man called Flood for almost 4 years, now he has been berated by the university and media, here is where we see boys turn into MEN, and yes may I say it, “Rutgers Men.” Saturday should be quite a show, of young boys showing that they are sons of the Rutgers’ brotherhood. But without two captains how can we do that? Leadership comes from deep down in the soul, not in the title of captain or # of stars you had coming out of HS.
Yes, Hamilton is out but as we use rotation in our D-line, this is not every other play Hamilton is out, but rather we will be rotating in some very good players. JPO/Wiafe/Joseph/Wilkins/Bateky are all very good interior linemen, as good as Hamilton.... well JPO/Joseph come very close, yes good enough against a weak PoSU O-line.
As we saw from our DBs this past weekend against the air attack happy cougars, we almost had 2 INTs. And a solid break up that could have been an INT., as well. Note, Falk is a quick gun slinger with a very quick release, where Hack is a bit more deliberated with his throws and that nanosecond difference can be the difference between a break up and an interception, expect some Ints. I like our starting DBs, Austin, Jacobs, Cioffi, & Wharton. But there is some great play by Hunt, Jarius Adams, Saquan Hampton, & Kiy Hester. This is a real solid crew whose only shortcoming is poor communication. But after an air attack they just went thru, I say there is outstanding improvement in that area of our game.
But our offense loss Carroo! Chris Laviano, if you have not looked, leads the Big Ten with passing efficiency of 202.8 and he is SIXTH in the nation, Hello!!!. And as many complained, he did not throw enough to Carroo (17%) in the WSU game, know this, Laviano hit 10 different receivers, completing 79.3% of his passes. How much more do you expect from a QB! Will Chris grow with the added weight on his shoulders?
This is where you separate the men from the boys. Expect this team to be focused but tight. As a matter of history expect, a 2 score lead (6-14 points) before we shake off the adrenaline excitement/rush and start playing solid defense. To win this game I believe we will need 25 points. OC Ben McDaniels has shown a bit more flair in the offense then Fridge. Expect even more Saturday night!

Rutgers scores +30 points for the win!

I may be asking too much, but I expect my QB to be able to throw it deep out of bounds instead of just over the heads of the defenders.

I think Laviano showed improvement throughout the game. I'm still not sold that he can do a good deep ball. I'd like to see him hit people down field in stride. Then I'll be in his corner.

The week before he has 2 deep passes that went for TD. what more do you want? It was not like the WSU game he had the time to throw a deep ball. One of his sacks came at 2.7 seconds from the snap. Hell he did not have time to set his feet. No matter who the QB was our O-line pass blocking was not our best showing!
