BACATOLOGY 3/11: NCAA TOURNAMENT ANALYSIS

wrapping up some late games

Montana State another sub 500 school is dancing from the Big Sky

Utah routed Arizona State to keep their hopes alive

Some sayThursday of Championship Week is the best day in all of college basketball

bubble impact games.....

St Joe's/Richmond.....Spiders are the AQ but slim hopes as at large would end here

Minnesota/Michigan State.....A loss and who knows where the Spartans sit

Mississippi State/LSU.....Bulldogs would be in danger of dropping out of the field with a loss

Wake Forest/Pitt.....biggest bubble matchup of the day...loser out, winner close but...

Seton Hall/St John's.....a must win for the Johnnies due to some bubble developments, a bit less so for the Pirates

Wichita State/Memphis.....Tigers need this and more to stay in contention

San Diego State/UNLV.....Rebels on their home court loom a potential bid stealer in the Mountain West Tournament

UCLA/Oregon.....Ducks have 20 wins but on the extreme fringes of the bubble

Ohio State/Iowa.....for both its about winning this one and then beating Illinois tomorrow yet maybe more realistic for the Hawkeyes than the Buckeyes

Ole Miss/Texas A&M.....Aggies definitely need this as they are right on the cut line with those 4 Q3 losses

Kansas State/Iowa State.....a potential 6th Q1 win for the Wildcats might be enough to vault them into the field

Providence/Creighton....absolute must win for the Friars

BC/Virginia.....while UVA appears a tad above the fray, a loss here would change that

Cincinnati/Baylor.....Bearcats would need this and then another one to legit be talked about as an at large

Villanova/Marquette....Nova failed the eye test vs horrid De Paul and I wonder if their fate is already sealed

New Mexico/Boise State.....Lobos in must win mode here and is that enough to give the Mountain West 6 bids

Utah/Colorado.....HUGE bubble buster. Utes still in trouble even with this win but might cause some pause for Colorados chances

Montana St lost to NAIA Rocky Mountain College 62-70 of the Frontier Conference. They finished the year 12-17.

Extremely well done!!

Think SHU already in. Think Nova already out. Is Marquette guard still out?

Beat me to it. Today is a very underrated day for college basketball. Appreciate the bubble list.

projected MAC AQ Toledo is down double digits to Kent State in the MAC Quarterfinals

projected A10 AQ Richmond only up 24-22 over St Joes at half

Just watch the selection committee say that X's performance in their conference tourney was the reason they were put in, after telling us last year that it doesn't matter.

UNC pulled away, but Xavier giving UConn all they can handle

i really think you cannot make a tourney resume in 3 days, you have to have stuff that makes you close heading to the tourney. Committee has been consistent on not rewarding tourney runs for a few years now

that is why Kansas State in better shape than Cincinnati or Ohio State

Sparty in danger of totally falling out with a loss today?
i would put it at 25% chance to fall out....they still have strong metrics and no bad losses and strong sos,,,,they will be sweating, i could see first four but have to see how everything plays out to see if there is a good possibility to be booted

A10 tourney has been very competitive to date. Very close games since it started on Tuesday.

St Joes wins 66-61

Dayton now projected AQ although some bracketologists going to stick with seeding and give it to 2nd seed Loyola, I am not

St Joes meets winner of VCU/Umass

Richmond falls to at large pool where outlook is slim

One more spot opens up on the bubble.....Indiana State step right up. Virginia now moves from first four games to a bye

Sparty now up 8 on Minny with 5 minutes left. The 3 Big 10 at larges MSU, NW and Nebby will all be jockeying on that 8/9 line but I expect one of them to end up a 10...MSU looking good to be on that 8/9 line due to their metrics.

Infuriating. Such crap as thought all along

in the 2nd half now, Mississippi State continues to trail LSU
During the month of March do you push the lawnmower at all? Has CBS contacted you yet to run its bubble watch? How many hours of your day do you dedicate to Bacatology? Does it take away from any of your time watching Fox News or newsmax?
