The NCAA just announced that they will be returning to the Saturday-Monday, Sunday-Tuesday format for the preliminary rounds of the tournament.

Also keeping the top 16 seeds as hosts.

And obviously only one way to find out.

I did think the different days for the first rounds were odd and not conducive to TV coverage.

I like that they are staying with the top seeds hosting and the "neutral" regional sites. The system that they had of pre-selected sites for the first 2 rounds was a disaster and I was always surprised it took them so long to figure it out.

They went away from the top 16 seeds hosting because of the lack of parity. Turns out obviously that location of the tournament sites has nothing to do with parity.

Now there is something to play for in the regular season - get a 1-4 seed and you almost guarantee entry into the sweet 16.
