will Vitamin Water U take Bashir to a Jets game if he were to visit during the fall?

Here is the tweet:

@NYPost_Brazille: Doesn't appear like JUCO target Bashir Ahmed will visit Rutgers as scheduled this weekend. #rhoops #sjubb

And both SJU and Louisville flew out to Hutchinson this week once the Contact period started on Wednesday 9/9 to see him:

@JucoRecruiting: Rick Pitino & two assistants were at Hutchinson CC today to watch Bashir Ahmed. Chris Mullin + asst at Hutch as well http://t.co/AB2Qu9gtZ4

This was out there last weekend, but I couldn't confirm it, so I didn't post it....Louisville is now heavily involved with Assistant K. Johnson leading the charge. There are some additional top kids beyond Ahmed visiting today for Washington State game, but I cannot confirm names and wouldn't until someone I know can confirm them here on campus. They are as talented if not more talented than Ahmed as 4 year prospects, so RU continues the recruiting grind into classes 2017 and 2018.

RU is also pursuing heavily with 2016 Small Forward De'Riante Jenkins, with a visit earlier this week with all coaches down there, so we will see what shakes out. I think Pitino and Louisville changes this Ahmed recruitment in a significant way.

Louisville is a different level.

Vitamin water should be worried. They sit closer to us than to cards.

Hard to contend with lville but we are closer to home. Not for nothing, but I see some kinds of similarities in Jenkins and Ahmeds game.

Pretty certain at this point that RU is no longer a major player for Ahmed. Always heard Cincy was SJU's biggest competition but Louisville maybe the fly in the ointment here.

That's fine. Haven't you mentioned he was always a SJ lean. That's not true either. If he comes, great. He is a great player. If not, show goes on. I don't lose any emotion or sleep obviously.

When was the last time anybody was successfully able to determine the path of a 18 y/o who has 10 different people with 10 different intentions in their ear everyday.

To be honest not certain what point you are making.

All I am saying is that you seemed to have great confidence that he was always heading to SJU, which doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So we can all agree that we have no confident, positive idea where this kid is headed. With Lville involved now, I would place a guesstimate of 25-30% he come to Rutgers. Patino is also an NY guy an Ahmed will like that. I think he has a chance to come to Rutgers based upon certain ideas.

Ahmed or not, Rutgers is building options in hopes of making a tourney push in the next 2-3 years.

This year must see improvement and 13-17 wins for that to happen. If it's less than five, I think players might go elsewhere which would lessen the chances of a tourney run.

Higgins - St. John's is still a strong lean for Ahmed. Louisville is a factor because it is Louisville, but Ahmed very unlikely to head there. RU is not a factor.

For RU, our focus is correctly on Jenkins. Can play three positions well and is very open to RU overtures. Jenkins would be an exceptional commit.

No doubt. I am still not sure Ahmed is a nonfactor at RU. If he was, he wouldn't waste his time coming here. Oh well.

Sounds like RU has fallen from a contender, but still in the game.
Louie might be in the game more than we might think.
