Did you make the Temple game thread wall of shame?

Or maybe no game thread at all and everyone just enjoy watching the game!
For some of us that aren't in NJ, it's the one place you can talk Rutgers Football during the game with other fans that care about RU.

Might be different if you are at the game surrounded by RU fans.

I don't think I seen anything posted in a game thread that would not have been heard from someone at the stadium.

Fans are fanatics & if your are looking at a message board topic for game threads you are a Rutgers fanatic.

Thankfully, no. I generally don't do game threads. Basketball taught me that lesson.
I use to go on the basketball game threads to see if a call was as bad as I thought it was on the replay since I am at all the games. Stopped doing it since most of the posts are just idiotic and the majority coming from someone who thinks himself enough of a fan do post game recaps. Now I just text someone who is watching from home to see if there was a bad call.

The following are real posts from the Temple game thread. Salvi's Headband is this week's winner based upon quantity. However, RU-Choppin-Ohio's inane post about playing to test the FG kicker is a classic.

You missed this gem from greenknight:

"Temple is better. Play calling is 100x better. They mix it up. They run it inside, outside passing is mixing it up. There QB is making plays"

And yet, our DBs do well in the NFL.

Gee, I wonder who is correct in how they coach DBs?

BTW.. I am in the same boat where I wish a DB would just take a look and get that free INT. But the idea he might get caught looking and/or misjudge the ball and give up a TD... not worth it with a good D.

I think they are coached well in college but he one area they are clearly not coached well is getting your head turned around. Schiano simply doesn't believe in that philosophy. When they get to the pros, that changes.

I stand by what I said, when I said it during the game. Gavin started off great going 7 for 8, I said this when Gavin suddenly became extremely inaccurate during his 1 for 6 stretch where the offense was bogging down and he missed bad on some open receivers.

And yes, he plowed a couple of them into the turf. He was given plenty of time and yet missed them. That's not on the Oline like so many like to blame, whenever our offense doesn't move.
I think Gavin's footwork needs some work. On that long sideline route to the open WR where he sailed it out of bounds... he had an open stance.. did not step into the throw.. Not needing to step into it shows off his arm strength.. but hurt his accuracy.

I think of this like in basketball.. you see those guys at the three-point line who get their feet set correctly to take a pass and go right up, squared to the basket. Wimsatt needs to get his feet right before the throw every time.. unless under severe duress. Even then that might signal he should throw it away if he cannot accurately deliver the pass. Footwork. Consistency.

Footwork in almost every sport is the quite literally the foundation of good play.
And to prove the rule you have Patrick Mahomes.. who seems to do nothing right but throw catchable balls to receivers and move the chains. They shouldn't ever allow aspiring QBs to see Mahomes game film.

Now.. BEFORE he throws it.. nifty footwork..

I can't believe one of my posts that made this list is "I have a bad feeling about the second half." Lmfao. The OP is a moron and can go fly a kite.

I'm confused by the point of this thread.
Just to call out bad and inaccurate posts?

Should we have one with all the people saying Wimsatt would lead us go the Big Ten Championship game when he signed?
Or a special thread for RutgersAl when if we don't make the Rose Bowl next year or whatever he predicts?

Many/most coaches teach not to turn around if you are a step back. This has been covered many times on NFL broadcasts.

Thinking no need as you seem to already take care of that for the board.

Who honestly cares what people post in a game thread? It’s supposed to be people live posting their emotions and hot takes.
Yeah. But it's also supposed to be people who have achieved at least a 14 year-old level of maturity and with at least some degree of understanding that, in sports, there are going to be ups and downs throughout the game. Stuff is going to go wrong and there are going to be periods of bad play.

Some of those posts look exactly like what you'd expect from third graders. They conjure up images of angry little kids stamping their feet while throwing tear-filled temper tantrums over not getting their way. "Waaaa, the team didn't do what I waaaanted. They suuuuuuuuck. Waaaa".

Do I care? A little, because it's a little embarrassing being associated with that sort of embarrassingly childish behavior. I mean, if I'm the one setting the standard for mature behavior in a thread, then the thread is basically fvcked.

You do know that you are dealing with a duly appointed and registered attorney licensed to mis-practice law before the USPTO? I also know people in high places and have access to judges who rule on these things. Documents get lost all the time.
Oh yes, I've done my due diligence by making lots of loosely affiliated assumptions, also known as facts, and I figured out that you were an attorney at law and at tailgates, depending on circumstance. I am encouraged by the generally accepted legal principle and reality of the Lots of Lost Documentation Syndrome, which I may include you in on if things break your way. In the meantime this board continues to prove the veracity of the Overlapping Syndrome, which paperwork the FDA and the AMA are expected to lose within twelve hours.

Oh.. I get the logic. If you are not watching the QB you shouldn't lose your man in man-coverage. The QB cannot look you off either. You won't bite on a play fake. The QB won't see the man you are shadowing as obviously open.

Now, Warner had many calls thrown to spots.. open areas.. where WRs had to run to find the ball... and they worked pretty often early on and then when they scored.. with a fake PI call or two.

When the ball is on its way you'll see when the WR looks to catch it. You might get faked out then but if you hear or see something that might make your head turn around and look for the ball.. that's an opportunity to lose your man.. to make a mistake. That gives the WR another way to fake you out.. to get you to turn your head.

The logic behind not looking for the ball is reasonable if not universally admired.

Am I recalling correctly that youse are the keeper of the spreadsheet of all vital information of posters on said board and its predecessors? If so, we can come to an amicable agreement on how to do business and rule the world.

Disagree. I see CBs turning around all the time in the NFL including RU guys in the league. It’s how you get interceptions.

Depends on your position as a DB. If you’re beat, you don’t turn around and get your hands up. If you’re in good position you turn to the ball. Many articles and analyses go in this direction.

I rarely look at my phone when I’m at a game , maybe to check the weather radar or another score. Call me old fashioned.

Me either - I have no idea why so many people are addicted to their phones. If I didn't have my ticket on my phone, I probably wouldn't even bring it in to the game, unless there was a weather issue.

With regard to game threads, though, I usually only do those for away games, since I'm at every home football and hoops game and, IMO, people shouldn't quote what folks say during the game, as that's like recording someone screaming and yelling at their TV. In real time, many to most of us have emotional reactions and say crap or type crap we probably only would say in the heat of the moment. It's like Vegas: whatever happens in the game thread should stay in the game thread.

How are most of them incorrect, the score was 13-7 in the 4th quarter? Jeez, if you went by the posts on this board subsequent to the game you would think we were dominating the scoreboard throughout the game. It's obvious some of the posts were made when Temple scored to make it 13-7, at that point I challenge anyone who was actually watching the game to think that Rutgers was not going to be in a dog fight until the very end.

According to some older posters I am the keeper of all vital information, such as which mall we shopped at when we were younger and other privileged statistics, including, but not limited to, whether we thought Kyle Flood committed child abuse by not pulling Gary Nova before he threw his sixth pick against Kent State. Ruling the world will be easy once we've got our own AI program up and running, which will be based entirely on the artificial intelligence in abundance on this board.

Our amicable agreement cannot be broken, so when we rule the world we will 1) Summon Scarlett Johansson to the Syndrome Mansion, and 2) Summon Scarlett Johansson to the Syndrome Mansion.
