1) play unselfish
2) move w/o ball to hoop
3)hit cutters & stop playing 1v1 every single possession
I don't think there is much doubt he is in the bottom of coaches in the Big 10. I don't even think he matches up with his buddy Hoiberg at Nebraska. The guy at Minnesota might even be better. Gotta go ASAP. I'll even donate for a successor and I'm pretty cheap.
What does you having been here 25 yrs have to do with anything?? Does that make you a master typer congrats my man....an an FYI so have I big guy. If you played & coached at a high level maybe you'd know if there was an open 3 with just over a minute left you need to take it....what you should have said was we were down 3 and everyone had in there mind to do 1v1 chucks instead of playing team ball & owning the possession COACH

Hoiberg is a way better coach than Pike. Not close.
He's a true freshman who sat out his senior year of HS so there will be ups and downs but there is no way that Pike can justify running Martini out there and leaving Grant out of the rotation after tonight
Whenever we randomly move the ball cut and play unselfish the offense looks good... but it always reverts back to iso ball standing and watching
No sir your backtracking you said I played the game at a high level & coached at a high level. I'm not liking anyone on team too much right now. We are 5 individual guys individually playing basketball getting schooled by less talented teams that play team basketball.
I've been talking about how bad a coach Pike is for at least 4 years now. I actually have some doubts as to how smart he is.

Martini would excel in a structured always moving/cutting basketball. Hes out of his element here. He needs others to create shots for him. This isnt his game.
I always said he was a terrible game coach but his value was building a program with under the radar recruits with an emaphsis on defense. And, of course, he represents the school well…which I’m not sure I care about any more watching seedy characters like Pearl, Calipari, and Pitino excel. NIL and the portal have made him obsolete. You now need to recruit players who contribute immediately and be a game coach, neither of which he excels at. Of course, you also need NIL $$ which he can’t control. He was handed two studs who should have bought him another year before he was exposed, but he’s being exposed now instead.
He's not even making open 3s though. His shooting confidence is shot (pun intended) and he brings nothing else to the table
Think that’s the most frustrating thing about this team, and maybe the only thing that still gives me hope - see everything in spurts but never at the same time and never consistently. Ace hot, everyone cold. Acuff hot, everyone cold. Dylan hot, everyone cold. Great D, no O. Great O, no D. Great rebounding, ton of turnovers. Great ball movement for a half, iso insanity the other half.
It’s Grants time now. His wingspan is huge. Really liked what I saw from him and Acuff tonight. That’s the 5 - Lathan/Big E, Grant, Ace, Dylan, Acuff/JMike.

Happens when your not part of the offensive flow. There's a number of guys in that position.
You can see it in the Bigs that are rushing shots and just throwing it up instead of using their fundamentals of slowing it down and working your shot thru footwork, body position & ball ripping. Yesterday the team actually moved the ball to get to within 3 and then the 1v1 chuck it up from everywhere started boom down by 13. That was from ALL 5 on the court. We do not play as a team plain & simple
