Yup. Jon Snow is a Starkaryan.
There was a lot of speculation on this but most said it was Ned hooking up with a Targaryan during the war. Very early in the first season we saw Robert Baratheon lament Ned's sister Lyanna's passing and later comments about Targaryan being responsible. But in terms of Jon Snow's parentage this was all but forgotten
(apparently only forgotten by me now that I read all the reviews of the speculation and recounting the hints)
Now just remember that Bran saw this and he is going to return to Winterfell and/or Castle Black.. and all will soon know Jon may be MORE than King of the North. And since Targayans like to "keep it in the family".. maybe Dany's in his future too. Maybe they fly off on dragons for their honeymoon.
The return of the green fire... well predicted by many.
Arya's appearance in this episode.. as soon as Frey said .. "You're not one of my usual.." I nearly leaped out of my chair knowing it was Arya.
So much good stuff in this episode... BUT.. and it is a big BUT...
I am worried that there is not too much story left the way things are going. That is.. what oposition can there be to Dany's forces now?
Way back when you had a bunch of houses..representing.. (from wiki)
House Arryn, rulers of the Vale of Arryn from the castle of the Eyrie.
House Baratheon, the Seven Kingdoms royal house from the Red Keep and rulers of the Stormlands from the castle of Storm's End.
House Baratheon of King's Landing, rulers of the Crownlands from the castle of the Red Keep in King's Landing, and the de jure royal house.
House Frey, rulers of the Riverlands from The Twins.
House Greyjoy, rulers of the Iron Islands from the castle of Pyke. Currently in rebellion against the Iron Throne.
House Lannister, rulers of the Westerlands from the castle of Casterly Rock.
House Stark, rulers of the North from the castle of Winterfell in defiance of the Iron Throne.
House Tyrell, rulers of the Reach from the castle of Highgarden in defiance of the Iron Thrones
And add in Targaryens.. amd summery hot Dorne.
And there was some balance with houses sitting out the succession wars.. but the Stark/Tullys were beating the Lannisters and all their allies until the defections took place. And we know the Lannisters and the Iron Throne itself is bankrupt. And the houses sitting out.. the Reach and Dorne are all now with Dany/Targaryens and the Vale is with the Starks.. at least for now. And the Lannister's military leader, Jamie, is going to be highly distracted with his sister on the Throne and his offspring all dead now.
And Dany has dragons.
The Lannisters are doomed.. no?
I can see it now, the attacking armies are all over King's Landing and into the Red Keep and Cercie orders the stores of Wyldfire exploded to destroy the whole city... and Jaime has to kill her too!
Is this all just leading up to a unified kingdom facing the White Walker army?
That is big.. but where's the fun stuff GoT is famous for then? The political intrigue, etc. The fun has been seeing each side thinking they know whats going on and scheming then then being "surprised". The whitewalker side has no politiics.
Maybe that's what is giving GRRM so much trouble getting to his ending books. He planned for 7 and maybe there is only 6 in his story.
