I personally hate the "ice the kicker" time outs. But the time out is not the dumb Schiano decision that lost the game. The dumb Schiano decision that lost the game was sending six for pressure when they had no time outs and unless there was a defensive penalty it was the last play of the game. Incomplete pass ends the game. Completed pass tackled in-bounds ends the game.
2 awful decisions in a row cost these kids the game. Inexcusable from the coaching staff. That all out blitz was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen in my life.

The defensive line has been the biggest weakness all season.In this game the lack of a pass rush allowed Illinois to complete too many long passes.The defense on third downs has been bad especially in the second half.When Rutgers has the ball Illinois put seven players near the line of scrimmage to stop the run.The last three minutes was truly amazing with both teams scoring touchdowns.Illinois takes over with one minute remaining and Rutgers leading 31-30.Illinois completes a touchdown pass with four seconds remaining to win the game.This has to rank as one of the worse Rutgers losses because the defense only had to stop a reception in the end zone to win the game.Heartbreaking loss because the offense kept scoring.

This sums it up. The guy probably had a 20% chance of making it in this wind. Calling a timeout would have only allowed him to increase his chances because he could adjust after he saw how the wind affected it. Absolutely a moronic timeout.
