You can't call two timeouts in a row anymore. It's a penalty. He called the timeout on the botched kick, then he couldn't call a timeout when Butthead ran his offense on the field.

I had to stop watching before the end. He ALMOST took accountability a few times but quickly backed off of it with a "sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't" attitude. F this guy.
Would have had slightly more respect if he just said "yeah I blew it."

That would be Dan Lanning 3D chess thinking he’s demonstrated at times but I doubt it. How can he anticipate for sure a TO being called. His comments and reaction at the end didn’t seem like that. He was just grateful for the 2nd chance.

I’m probably like mildone in being dispassionate most of the time (i was in shock though) but sports is emotional and if there’s a place a fan should release that emotion from joy to frustration to anger or what have you a messageboard like this should be it. This a place to celebrate and commiserate and vent with other fans, everyone should feel what they feel. It’s harmless.

Exactly. And I didn’t tell anybody else how to feel.

As for the troll, he’s obviously not an RU fan, I’m guessing he’s a Syracuse fan. I just trolled him back, which is always fun.

Why blitz everyone? They have ZERO time outs ! What was he thinking ? Forget the ice timeout that could have gone either way

Because if they had played back in coverage, and Illinois completes a 15 yarder for a first down, they have time to spike and kick.

Have to change the defensive call/look if the opponent calls time out.

It hurt us 2x this game.

That's when a timeout should have been called, when they decided to go for it. Settle everyone down and reset the defense. We went from a big Senior day celebration to the worse loss in a very long time.
