I tried to quit this board. But I wasn't able to do it. Instead, I'm now going to ignore every one of the histrionic posters, starting with OP. Sad!
another midwest guy...well qualified but we need east coast type of tie in for next HC.Mark Mangino.
1) Won a National Championship as an offensive coordinator at Oklahoma
2) Won a BCS game at Kansas as s head coach
This head coach is a "I need a second chance hire". On the other hand he has wealth of head coaching knowledge. This is a head coach with a wealth of knowledge and a winning mentality.
Careful, you will be accused of being board police.Your favorite Winnie the Pooh character is Eeyore, amiright?
Wouldn't be the first time. LOLCareful, you will be accused of being board police.
Right on, brother.Wouldn't be the first time. LOL
I'm not policing him and telling him not to post. Just pointing out that he greatly resembles Eeyore, personality-wise. Or maybe Marvin, the perpetually pessimistic, deeply dejected robot from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Everybody gets to choose how they want to go through life. I choose to be happy and to try to spread that happiness. He chooses... otherwise, I guess.
"I was talking to the ships computer...and he hates me.""Wouldn't be the first time. LOL

I wonder how many guys got a woody when they read that. :)Greg Schiano
You too, my friend. It's freaking beautiful out in central NJ today. Love this time of year.Right on, brother.
While not happy with the current state of RU Football, I'm not going to mope over it and lash out over every little thing perceived to be wrong. Too much else to be happy about in life. Have a fabulous day.
Beach (err, sick) day tomorrow. Cough, cough. Currently temporarily living in Belmar less than a block from the beach. You too, my friend. It's freaking beautiful out in central NJ today. Love this time of year.
Not even a little bit. There's zero evidence that if he were our coach right now, we wouldn't be in exactly the same place.100%
Miss me Yet?
yes a Coach who rebuilt the program from patriot level, produced ranked teams, yearly bowl games, coached in NFL..after 1.5 wouldnt have RU in the same spot. Not even a little bit. There's zero evidence that if he were our coach right now, we wouldn't be in exactly the same place.
I like Greg but I am not sure he would have had much more success at this point in time with this talent. We do not have the horses and the depth right now to be competitive with the top teams in the B1G.yes a Coach who rebuilt the program from patriot level, produced ranked teams, yearly bowl games, coached in NFL..after 1.5 wouldnt have RU in the same spot.
Please stop.Within reason considering we are still 3 years from a full payout...who would you want as RU HC if Ash fails? I say Bo Pelini. He got a raw deal at Nebraska, and almost won the NC at YSU. He comes from the same cloth as Schiano...brash, in your face.
There’s also zero evidence that he wouldn’t have won every national championship from 2014-now. See how fun that is!Not even a little bit. There's zero evidence that if he were our coach right now, we wouldn't be in exactly the same place.
A coach that failed in the NFL and got fired. A coach who could never beat WVU. A coach who could never win a weakened Big East. A coach that padded the schedule with soft teams. A coach that many here argued was a very poor game-day coach.yes a Coach who rebuilt the program from patriot level, produced ranked teams, yearly bowl games, coached in NFL..after 1.5 wouldnt have RU in the same spot.
There are 11 years of evidence that wouldn't have happened. There’s also zero evidence that he wouldn’t have won every national championship from 2014-now. See how fun that is!
The roster is the evidence against that. Saban could not win it all with our talent. There’s also zero evidence that he wouldn’t have won every national championship from 2014-now. See how fun that is!

this wouldnt have happened .last season.Or going foward weekly. There are 11 years of evidence that wouldn't have happened.
Was 80-7 against WVU much different? Or the Miami games? Greg is a good coach but without talent he also took his lumps. I would have had no problem if Greg had been rehired but I would not have expected much of a difference on the field.this wouldnt have happened .last season.Or going foward weekly.
58-0. 78-0. 49-0. 39-0.
FCS schools against their bigger FBS brothers?
Not quite. These are the poundings Rutgers has taken in Big Ten play this season against Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and now Penn State, respectively
There’s no evidence to support your contention that a Schiano coached team wouldn’t have suffered similarly. Schiano had 11 years to win a weakened Big East and never did, even in seasons when he had ranked teams.this wouldnt have happened .last season.Or going foward weekly.

with enough money .. yes... plus he gets to put the beatdown on oscar meyerHuh...do you think he would have even entertained time at Rutgers? Hell of a coach...run out of town by the fools in Ga
However, I do believe he was on the brink of winning a BE Title if he stayed. There’s no evidence to support your contention that a Schiano coached team wouldn’t have suffered similarly. Schiano had 11 years to win a weakened Big East and never did, even in seasons when he had ranked teams.
I don’t want a coach that can prevent us from getting blown out in games, but not win the big games. If we were going to get a new coach, I want a coach that can take RU to a national championship. No evidence at all Schiano is that guy.
Possibly. We did have a perfect storm of opportunity. However, I do believe he was on the brink of winning a BE Title if he stayed.
I doubt the timing will be right, but in around three years some program will snatch this guy up. His turnaround job has been near miraculous: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Creighton
again,we are in the B10 east. This is a massive rebuild thanks to Flood and RU going on the cheap for years prior..I doubt the timing will be right, but in around three years some program will snatch this guy up. Yes he will.

Program needs a name past or ,current Power five head Coach to take over the program, not another assistant, not a Mac coach.

Are you sure about that?Dude makes Fridge look healthy
He looks like he is about to eat the guy with the whistle. Are you sure about that?
He slimmed down while at Iowa State:
