The @LevaosLectures guy has you confused.(bad form LL) Here's the real way it went down.I hope Ash didn't kick out the kid because of a little weed and an open container that is just stupid and very minor offense.
He's in trouble since program momentum is currently negative. He can change that by winning enough games over the next 6 months. If the wins don't come in, he's just about a dead man walking, as I can't see recruiting picking up without a good story to sell. The latest news doesn't help, but he was already on a hot seat. I can see him survive a season without a bowl, as long as it translates into competitive games that highlight a team that is trending up and results in some players that can fill the obvious holes pronto (I think he needs at least 4 wins, with 2-3 close losses to our B1Gger brethren).
I'm rooting for him & the program. Would be a great story.
Mmmmm....no. You are wrong again. You are just hating and piling on at a tough time for this team and the fan base."Rutgers coach Chris Ash has not responded to several attempts by NJ Advance Media for comment."
If Ash wants to continue as coach he needs to be transparent and get out in front of this, right now.
Thanks for proving me right. Since there's no data available to defend Ash's record, you simply lash out at a poster who points out the facts. Whatever.Mmmmm....no. You are wrong again. You are just hating and piling on at a tough time for this team and the fan base.
Agree. If the day comes this season where a 5-win season is no longer possible, he should be fired immediately, an interim coach appointed and the search is full swing. Need to start preparing for this possibility now.Rutgers better be getting a short list together and Schiano should be at the top of the list.
Hobbs has done a lot of good things here, but he can’t be trusted to make another football hire if ash flops. He needs some help with this.

-Ash kicks KJ Gray and Deveros off team(for credit card fraud). Press doesn't know reason yet so they go digging
-Reporter goes to each surrounding town for an open records report to find anything.
-Bam, finds out about KJ Gray being summoned in East Brunswick for drugs and open container in June.
-Reporter goes to Rutgers officials to find out if this is reason why he was kicked off the team.
-Nobody, I mean nobody from administrative to coaching staff know what the hell he's talking about. This is the 1st they've heard about it.
Turns out KJ forgot or maybe it slipped his mind:rolleyes:, that he has a responsibility to inform his coaches. Thus we find out KJ Gray is now on his 3rd strike at the ripe old age of 21 and from his tweet he's hoping for a second chance somewhere else. Or is that third chance? That aspect gets a little confusing for KJ.
Ash was a little lazy. He should spend more time on the phone with local police departments polling them.If Gray never tells anybody who’s fault is it really?
The point is that Ash defenders have no data to back up their assertion that he's a great coach and that everyone else is "anti-RU" or "trolls." He's 6-18 with a loss to Eastern Michigan, 0 points scored against Ohio State, bad recruiting and now off-the-field problems. Yet I'm a "troll" for demanding at least 5 wins from him in his third year, which every Rutgers football coach in the last 50+ years has accomplished. LOLAsh may not be the right guy, but comparing records is silly.
Ash should know that he should be calling all police departments in surrounding towns to ask if any of his players have been arrested or otherwise had brushes with the law. This one is clearly on Ash.

Disagree. It was credit card fraud, allegedly. No, but a Head Coach of any Program should have some sense that something is wrong when 10% of your players are involved in illegal criminal activities.
The self-righteousness of some here is amusing.

Just stop already.Ongoing issue with Gray and drugs .....not known ?
Having 8 players possibly involved in the cc scam shows he has no pulse on the program/ and does not recognize character issues of his players.
Not to be sarcastic , are you somehow related to the Ash family ?
If it is 8 players involve, even credit card fraud makes for people to need this matter to be addressed ASAP .Disagree. It was credit card fraud, allegedly.

Take a look in the mirror. ;):fistbump:So true. So true. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Just stop already.
He has 80 plus kids on the roster, recruiting responsibilities, managing the coaches, fundraising and a lot of other stuff to do besides babysitting grown men (18 year olds are men). Let's turn the tables. How many parents do you know have kids who were smoking pot or doing things like stealing, but never got caught. If you are friends with these parents, are you going to get in their face and tell them that they are failures as parents and should be fired?
Seriously doubting you are the #1 fan of RU. Just go cheer for someone else already.
How does anybody at Rutgers know this part of the equation if the grown ass man in question doesn’t fess up?Ongoing issue with Gray and drugs .....not known ?

OK, keeping quiet is probably the correct move right now. Just saw News 12 bumble and stumble through trying to make this a huge issue. Rutgers blanket statement said, they will not comment while an ongoing investigation is underway. Same from Rutgers police. Middlesex county dickheads have been kept out of it for now and had no comment.(poor prosecutor can't have his name in lights)"Rutgers coach Chris Ash has not responded to several attempts by NJ Advance Media for comment."

You make some good points. But when ash has a team that ARE NOT HIS RECRUITS embarrasses rutgers on the field, many here hang their hat on that at least he doesn’t embarrass us off the field--IRRATIONAL. Now if that goes away, ash has absolutely nothing going for him--WRONG-HE NEEDS TO SHOW WHAT HIS PLAYERS WILL DO ON THE FIELD. We would stink on and off the field under ash--NO, NOT REALLY.
So he better win 5 or 6 games next year .
None of this stuff would even be news if we were good. Unfortunately we suck.

No it's not.sorry thats a lot of guys to be involved, yes its a hit on Ash
unduly harshYou said nothing, much like most of your 30,000 posts. One of the most prolific and useless posters in the history of this board.
No it's not.
Let's not get overly dramatic like CNN and MSNBC.
How the heck would he monitor and be on top such of a thing?
He doesn’t have to do it himself. Get one of the GAs to do it. It’s his job to oversee. No it's not.

After we are dead and buried. The next generation has hopeAnother stain on a program that lives in the drain. When the hell does this end???
