Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

No need for 5 pitchers if you can't score. Mets need to guess right and trade one of the big guns. Noah is the only one safe. Team has 6 six whole hitters ,no speed , and two catchers who should be batting 10th! Still in good standing in the wild card but something needs to change.

Hard to be bombing when your team has scored like 2 runs the last 4 starts.

He just turned 23 in March. Best homegrown pure hitter since David, potential to be the best ever drafted and developed position player for the Mets. The league is starting to notice.

Leaving for Las Vegas ?

It looks as if the Mets are the ones are getting ready for Hillary:No Mets team has ever had a .500 season during the first term of a Democratic President, going 0 for 19.

The Mets have had a few dramatic reversals of form whenever a Democrat takes over:In 1977,they went from an 86-76 season to 4 straight last place finishes. In 1993,they went from mediocrity to losing 103 games. In 2009,they dropped out of sight after losing the postseason hope on the final day 2 years running. The record is pretty clear.

Was nice to have d'Arnaud back at catcher for defense, with a nice strike out, throw out double play on the attempted stolen base. Hope he gets the bat going.

Solid Mets-style win bolstered by the long ball.
Cespedes left game early with wrist issue. Read on Metsblog that Duda is still not doing baseball activities.

Cespedes and Syndergaard both off to the hospital with wrist and elbow discomfort respectively. Hold on to your hats folks...please let this be nothing

Terry Collins' blatant disrespect to 40 year veteran PR guy Jay Horowitz in his postgame presser was highly unprofessional and uncalled for.
You cannot call another man a puppy dog on live TV like that. Terry is showing what a lifelong loser he is and needed to be shown the door a long time ago.

Collins is a baffling fool who has the IQ of a Bowery Boy.......I have never liked Collins...and this will not go down well with the Wilpons are very loyal and rightfully so to Jay Horowitz.....

Crossing my fingers as well and praying it's nothing....

I agree, terry is bad. Although Horowitz should've been let go a LONG time ago. Let's say the mets PR in the last 10+ years has...yeah

Hopefully syndergaard is ok. He's the main concern. Cespedes will be fine if nothing's broken. However this is thors 2nd time having elbow discomfort in the past 2 weeks. Not good. TJ is a legit possibility

Shocking news!!

Both Noah & Cespedes are basically ok & no DL for either. Cespedes got a cortisone shot. Probably miss a couple games. Noah needed anti-inflammatories & can resume a normal work schedule.

Also Wheeler was cleared for baseball activities.

What a relief !!

I'm taking a wait and see approach, given the Mets horrid track record with evaluating and then handling injuries, but all in all...GREAT news.

Nats lost again to the Dodgers. Mets 3.5 games back.
And Mets killer Chase Utley helped the cause, scoring his 1000th career run.

There is fault on both sides and the organization here. The reporters did not ask questions, and that should have been the end of it. Why did the PR guy see fit to bring Terry back to the podium? There was no information to provide of worth. Too often the media pushes for answers that aren't there and then speculate for 100 articles on the health of a player until the actual medical report is available. The media was actually being patient for once. Why did the PR guy feel the need to stir the pot when the pot was empty?

That said, Collins could have handled it better. He is supposed to be a seasoned pro, and maybe all of the injuries are getting to him. For all of you saying Terry is bad, do you want Willie Randolph back?

Hopefully we can circle June 22nd as a turning point day in a World Championship season. Was teetering on the verge of extinction for a few hours there.

Last night. . . .
Tonight-go up 8-0, cruisin with Matz on the mound. Bottom 5th, Braves put up 6 runs and still batting.

Cripes, now Cespedes hurts himself going back to first base after getting picked off. Twisted ankle.
Well-surprise--he is playing in the outfield. Keith and Gary thought he would be out for the rest of the game.

I predict that this team is going to get me to start smoking weed for the first time so I can calm down from watching their BS.

Holy ineptitude! Braves have 1st and 2nd, nobody out. Flores flubs a soft liner at 3rd, Braves runners don't move, Flores steps on 3rd, and throws to 2nd for double play. Wild final out on a strike out/passed ball, and Loney makes a goalie save!

The Jose Reyes trial balloon is floating over Citi Field . . . . .
It's now considered almost a done deal. He clears waivers tomorrow at 1:00 PM and could be signed immediately thereafter. Will be sent to the minors to get some games in at third base, a position he has never before played.

Not the old Jose to be sure, and not a panacea by any means, but an upgrade over Ty Kelly.

Jose and Gourriel are going to be this year's version of Uribe and Cespedes, since the Kelly Johnson part was already covered earlier lol

Gourriel @ 3rd, Jose @ 2nd, Walker @ 1st until Duda comes back.

Depth throughout the infield, and you can probably have Jose learn some OF and 1B as well.

I would most definitely sign Jose+gourriel. I would most definitely not move walker to first and upset what is a strengh with the up-the middle double play defense. and bench loneys bat and D at first. Otherwise, agreed lol.

Gourriel at 3b everything else stays the same til Duda comes back, Jose on the bench as a super sub/depth at various infield positions. Once Duda gets back that bench is looking really good with loney+Reyes, assuming Gourriel works out that's a solid lineup again.

Its all about Reyes this weekend, the spark plug we need. He is coming home and will be a huge plus.

I may have missed it but is there a good chance that Gourriel will sign with the Mets? I saw that he visited the Dodgers couple days ago. Would be great if he does sign with the Mets but doubt that the price tag allows the Wilpons to buy. This is why the Reyes is big this weekend because he's cheap and low risk on the field.

And if/when Duda comes back, why would Loney be benched? He's done a great job with the bat and glove so far. I would ride that until he dies down. Hes my dude but Duda is too streaky to just let him come back and start... Haven't anyone learned from DWright?
