Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

We were on a nice roll before you vanished. Stick around for this one.

The Mets have won TWO more games than the Yankees this season.
Yeah...right. The Yanks should start rebuilding and the Mets are in a great position for a dynamic finish.
What is it.....you're playing the Braves, Padres , and Phillies the rest of the way ?
Yeah....your team should be more confident than the Yankees....about two games worth.

If you think the Yankees are going to stay anywhere in the neighborhood of the mets by seasons' end or stay playing this well...oof I got a bridge to sell you guy. Have you seen your roster? It's awful. No lineup (Beltran). No starting pitchers (tanaka). Nice bullpen though lmao. Great bullpens only help teams that are contenders, not pretenders.

Asdrubal Cabrera is worthless. 0 for 30 with men in scoring position. Why does Collins continue to have him hit anywhere from 2nd to 6th in the lineup? Cabrera right now is an 8th place hitter.

All the talk about Reyes funking up Flores, Flores should take over for either Cabrera or Walker. Neither has done squat for at least a month now.

Yanks would probably beat the Mets in a 7 games series

Lmaooo!! Yeah....ok. with what starting pitching would the Yankees even make it to game 4? id still take the Mets lineup with all of its' problems over a yankee lineup aided by a little
League field. Stick to NJ sports, bro.

Back to Mets talk, Conforto seems to have his swing back, and a sweet catch in center field.

Nice triple by Jose Reyes, but he shows he is still learning how to play 3B on that tag today.
Scary how good the Marlins batting is, yet so far, Matz has held them to no runs today.
Saw Kershaw is out for at least a few weeks. Could be Mets/Marlins/Nats battling it out for 2 playoff spots.

Doubt 2 come from nl east. I think the Pirates cardinals Giants and Dodgers all have something to say about that

extremely impressive game from Matz. The team finally broke thru with the ever-impossible hit with a runner in scoring position to give familia some breathing room. How about #51 save in a row??!!

If hits with RISP cost 1 cent, this guy Cabrera still couldn't buy one lol. He's been extremely unlucky/bad in those spots. Seems to tighten up and doesn't go the other way enough or at all. Even if I believe granderson was safe at home, as Gary said, it still would've been a fielders choice and the 0-fer would still be in tact.

If the mets weren't the, as of now, statistically worst team in baseball history at getting hits with RISP...just imagine how many more wins they'd have? I'd say 3-5 more wins easily.

I'm still liking where the mets stand, that was a big series wins against the Fish. Keep winning 2 out of 3 and get/stay healthy, and they could just barely squeeze out one of the wild cards by seasons end.

Padres up 7-6 in top 9th. Papelbon getting pounded with hits. MLB feed positing whether Nats will go after Chapman hard to get a real closer.
Now 10-6 Padres over Nats and Padres still batting.

This unfortunately might push the Nats to overpay for chapman, which would help out my 2 most despised teams. Damn. I mean I would, papelbon absolutely blows and chapman would bolster their pen immensely. I think the Yankees are holding out for a combination of turner lopez and giolito, 2 of the 3. that would be a tremendous haul for the skanks.

Well, I don't think it will be difficult for the Yanks to stay in the neighborhood of the mets. But I wanna make the playoffs, so we'll need to do better than that. As I said earlier, if some of the guys besides Beltran and Gregorious can start contributing with their bats, they've got a shot. But I know mets fans. I know they'll never give the Yanks their due. No problem. It's expected here.
But we've both played about 100 games thus far this season and the mets have won TWO more games than the Yanks So they're both sorta in the same neighborhood.

Uhm for the past year or so you've never given the mets their due not once. For the time being, the Yankees are the punchline to my jokes and you make it so much easier with your incessant unrealistic homerism. Keep em coming old chap! The fact that you believe the Yankees are actually better than the mets is ridiculously hilarious.

Old chap....you ARE what your record says you are....TWO more wins than the Yankees....for now.

How do you figure it's a "very weak NL east"??? The teams' records are pretty much equal to the teams in the AL east. And the differences in records are so minimal, like 1 or 2 wins comparably. Some teams have played more than others. But sure I can make blanket statements too. Geez....

For now?? Do you have eyeballs? Do you watch the games?? The Yankees haven't had any starting pitching or hitting literally ALL season! Nothing has changed! If anything they are going to get significantly worse with the departure of chapman, since he truly is that good. You guys are in friggin la la land aka skankeeland

Not sure how I posted that as I was simultaneously rolling on the floor laughing my ass off :joy::joy:

I get it the Yankee fan is all high and mighty right now. You had a good weekend against the O's and the Giants- touché. Newsflash: you aren't this good. Your record says who you are? Ok, just like you have been all season, you're worse than the mets. Just in case that didn't register I will repeat: your baseball team is NOT as good as the Mets. Based on record. Thanks for playing though.

I don't think the mets are all that great; they're a borderline playoff team bc of injury and underperformance. But the yanKees are straight garbage who have had a good 7 days.

Degrom is better than every single starting pitcher on the Yankees. Why are you bringing him up? It doesn't further your point on anything. Douche
Tanaka = 7th in the AL for ERA, 7-2 record
deGrom = 10th in the NL for ERA, 6-5 record

Oops, I love fans of the JV team.

You're definitely wasting your time with this guy. Who but a mamaluke would consistently maintain that his team is so much superior to the Yanks, when they've played about 100 games already and the juggernaut from Queens has all of two more wins than that awful Yankees team with the horrible roster and no quality starting pitching ?
Ya gotta believe.

And that includes this season. Lower era that is. Wins are irrelevant. Felix Hernandez won the cy young with what 11 or 12 wins? There are about 3 or 4 more important stats than wins. Don't let facts get in the way though

Ok and degrom has a lower era for his entire career than tanaka so yeah, degroms better. Oh he's also our number 2 or 3 behind a healthy Harvey or syndergaard. Guy, it ain't close

Great stuff, thanks.

Would you make a straight up trade for degrom and Tanaka? As a Met fan I'd say no F'n way. As a Stankee fan, I'd bet you'd cream your pants for that deal.

Mets reportedly one of several teams strongly interested in Jonathan Lucroy. They are willing to offer D'Arnaud, plus... and that's the rub. Mets just don't have the prospects to offer. From what I'm reading, Smith and Rosario are off the table. Do they have anyone else attractive enough to outbid the competition and get the deal done?

First it's tanaka is better than degrom even though there is no statistical support behind that.... Next you're going to tell me tanaka is better than syndergaard l?? lmao. What's a healthy Harvey? The guy that has a career 2.94 ERA -also better than anyone on the Yankees. The Yankees just traded their best player but you'd think they're going to win the World Series according to these jerks lol it's just insanity

No. Don't trade for lucroy. Although trading darnaud for an upgrade at C sounds good, the only way the deal is happening is obviously including some combo of rosario/nimmo/smith, and I'm not okay with that.

I might be willing to deal Nimmo if that would get the deal done. I don't know if he has enough power to be an everyday corner outfielder, nor do I view him as an upgrade over Lagares in center.

Cheech doesn't look like a SS anymore either but he could be above average 2B. Possible good piece there for someone since we have him and Dilson.
