I hope they are getting warmed up for tomorrow night. At worst, it is Matt Harvey bobble head night. I can put Matt next to Dwight Gooden and Kyle Flood. What a group.
Sorry, but that doesn't mean that at all. I would suggest it means that the fact that they play in the weakass NL East and play a significant portion of their schedule vs. Philly and Atlanta is their only real path to the playoffs. They're probably just disappointed that Miami is somewhat improved and the mets schedule consequently isn't mostly the Nats and the three stooges as it was last season. You play a lot more games in MLB vs. the teams in your own division. The Yanks unfortunately are thus faced with mucho games vs. Boston, Baltimore, and Toronto....a slightly more difficult task than the mets face. And yet they still have the superior record for the season.
Please ignore the troll and it will go away.Congrats! You have a slightly better record than a team that lost for the season their starting 1b, 3b and #1 pitcher.

Talk about funny.
If the Jets had a worse record than the Giants 3/4 of the way through the football season and less attendance and a Jets fan was to say "we own the city".....their sanity would be in question.
If the Nets had a worse record than the Knicks 3/4 of the way through the basketball season and lower attendance and a Nets fan was to say "we own the city"...their sanity would be in question.
if the Devils had a worse record than the Rangers 3/4 of the way through the hockey season and less attendance and a Devils fan was to say "we own the city".....their sanity would be in question.
And with the mets having a worse record than the Yankees 3/4 of the way through the season and less attendance, a mets fan saying "we own the city" is just plain nuts.
It's why I love posting the facts here. I'm just trying to give you the help you so sorely need.
1986 was so long ago. And apparently it's taken its toll.
Amazin'.
Again, how will you feel if they come up a game or two short because of quitting on the team, and throwing away their bullpen? Will you still brag about they were sellers? Anyone who has watched baseball knows if your close, you don't give up on the season because you never know when you'll be back in that position again. If you don't agree with that, then your ignorance will be off the charts, lol. Thanks for the congrats.
BTW, when you say "starting 1b, 3b, and #1 pitcher" do you mean Wright (.226 BA), Duda (.231 BA). and Harvey (4-10 with 4.86 ERA) ? How in the world could a team be expected to replace THOSE numbers ?
And again, which New York MLB team has the better record....the sellers or the buyers ?

So now your happy they were sellers? That has been your mantra that as sellers their doing better than the buyers. So Mr. Teller of the Truth, the buyers vs the sellers doesn't hold any water anymore since your Yankees are playing better.Talk about waffling Of course, that's until the Mets pass them, and you'll start with your tired line again. Admit it, the Yankee brass, and fans, including YOU, gave up on the season. Only the Yankee players didn't. Mr. Speaker of the Truth, would you at least admit that?Since the Yankees made a bunch of changes at the trading deadline, they've played much better and keep moving closer and closer to a playoff spot. How could I criticize what they've done? It's working.
We've got the #1 MLB team in New York...and as someone earlier said....just make the playoffs and anything can happen. We're heading in the right direction.
I just wish we didn't have so many winning teams left on our schedule.

Can you please, please stop engaging this troll on this thread? Everybody else has. Free country, and do what you want, but for the love of NY Mets and their fans, do we really need to keep feeding this troll? He is a loser and adds nothing to the conversation. So now your happy they were sellers? That has been your mantra that as sellers their doing better than the buyers. OK, your right,I'll try, but he is tough to ignore, lol. Lets Go Mets. Funny, I walk every morning, and today I'm walking past the Hazlet Train Station and I see 4 people with Met shirts waiting for the north bound train, and I yell Lets Go Mets. They turn around and it's two former co workers I haven't seen in about 10 years. Great stories and we are planning a get together next week. See, Mets fans are great, lol. Can you please, please stop engaging this troll on this thread? Everybody else has. The ferry ride from Highlands was a blast last night. Loaded with Mets fans and a few Phillies fans. Expensive ride, but stress free, has a bar if you drink, and great views of NYC, especially at night. Where are you watching the RU Washington game?OK, your right,I'll try, but he is tough to ignore, lol. Lets Go Mets. Cespedes out with quad, and Walker out with back today.

This is Terry giving guys a day off for a day game after a night game. The gnome has put everything on the rook's back.Cespedes out with quad, and Walker out with back today.
Why hasn't Grandy been given his outright release? He is done as far as an everyday players. He's taken ABs away from others. Grady has something like 20 homers and 34 RBI. He hasn't been the leadoff hitter in 2 months, so what's the excuse? Batting under 200 with runners in scoring position has something to do with his production.:(This is Terry giving guys a day off for a day game after a night game. At least he's giving the kid a chance to win by starting both Bruce and Grandy.
I agree. I was being sarcastic.:)Why hasn't Grandy been given his outright release? He is done as far as an everyday players. He's taken ABs away from others. Don't worry Ray Ramirez will get him fixed up immediately. :(Cabrera out of the game. Wilmer in. Keep hitting Wilmer!
Mojo on Mets' side! Bruce gets a hit [banana]and Grandy with the SF![banana]Grandy with the bases loaded. I'm guessing a SO, but he can just as easily hit into a dp.
How is Grandy batting ahead of De Aza? This team keeps winning in spite of the Gnome's managing.Mojo on Mets' side! Bruce gets a hit [banana]and Grandy with the SF![banana]
