Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

Let's give a hand to Jose! Next time slide feet first. Good hustle.
Why do I have a feeling that there wouldve been a brawl on that play if this was in 86? Ramos couldn't make the play but he dam near took Reyes shoulder off.

Regardless, great play by Reyes. Clutch hit by Cespedes. Hope this FINALLY wakes the team up. And give it up to Montero. Wasnt exactly Tom Seaver tonight but still got a donut tonight

Last I checked the season doesn't end in August.

Gee....tonight's game stunk.
BTW, which New York MLB team has the better record ?
And we are in 4th place in our division ? And they are in 2nd place in the NL East ?
It's not fair.

No. Cards are in second spot with 69 wins. Giants are in first spot with 71.
My bad. Meant 2nd place for the second WC spot, if that makes any sense. o_O

And the Pirates lost, so we just need to keep winning--duh! Get past the Marlins. 6 games scheduled against Washington, on a slide ride now, and hope that continues.

And we have to play the defending champs on the road, while the mets get the Stanton-less Marlins.
Again, the schedule-maker has to be a mets fan.

Talk that $hit while you still can, lol.Might be the last day you can use that tired line,LMFAO

That line is tired for mets fans 'cause they have to look at the standings and see that they are having a worse season than their big brothers from the Bronx.

And the Mets are 3-1 this year versus the Royals, don't let facts get in the way KBEE!

If the mets being 3-1 this year vs. the Royals is of any importance what does the mets being 2-2 vs. the Yankees this year mean ?

Tainted ?
How many titles that the mets won during that time are now in question ?

Q. Why does it seem like the Mets make a roster move every day?

A. Because they do make a roster move every day. Anything to hold it together until they can call in the Vegas cavalry on Thursday. Today's move is Verrett in, Montero out. While Montero was clearly a one-and-done, I thought they'd replace him with a bench player like Kelly. But I can't argue with adding an arm to the overworked pen.

Cabrera and Bruce return to the lineup tonight. Rivera in at catcher.
The ONE thing I can say about the Yankees is that they are playing a hell of a lot better now than earlier in the year. Listening to sport radio this morning, i find it hilarious that the remaining veterans are pissed that they lost their playing time to these youngsters who actually EARNED playing time. Good for Girardi for going that route and honestly he should be manager of the yearif they do reach the Wildcard.

I wish the Mets (TC) would donthe same with d'Arnaud and Granderson, both who have no business starting at this time. Pitchers do well with Rivera behind the plate and his bat is actually coming around. But Im going to be like that old man on NETWORK and scream out the window I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE the next time Grandy SWINGS AND MISSES a 56ft breaking pitch with runners on base.

Nothing is worse than having Chase Headley bitch about being benched AFTER the guy who replaced him at third base had four hits in the game.

Another win. Grandy showing some life, Cabrera continuing his hot streak, and Lugo pitching well.

Everyday someone new comes through. I'm starting to get excited about our chances at making a late season run.

LGM!
Hope Grandy has awaken from his year long slumber. At the perfect time as well.

Lugo and Gsellman have been good surprises so far. Both earned future starts and should continue to do so if they keep earning them. Why not give Gabriel Ynoa a start or two as well.

Might as well shut Matz down for the rest of the season for his sake and make sure he can fully recover from whatever the hell and everything he has wrong with him. Damm shame because he has the talent but he goes on the DL sleeping on the wrong mattress. And with what happened with Bridgewater yesterday, cant be too careful anymore.

Baseball is not fair. Never has been.

I still chuckle at the Mets losing home field to the Astros to accommodate a football game in 1986 (I of course can laugh now). Not so funny with that home-field flip-flop having a hand in ruining us in 1988.

I just scratch my head with MLB a lot of times, and move on to loving my Metsies.

A fun fact about Seth Lugo. He threw a curveball yesterday that spun at 3,498 RPM - the highest spin rate in recorded history! (They've only been recording this since last year, but still...) Seven of the top ten spinners have been thrown by Seth Lugo. Why is this significant? Because when facing pitches with a 3,000 RPM spin rate or higher, the league is hitting .155 and slugging .218.

A pretty incredible stat for a 34th round draft pick.

Now what EXTREME SUPER REVERSE SLO MO X CAM SPONSORED BY RED BULL can the path of a curve ball be recorded on lol? Crazy stat tho!

Not trying to jinx anyone but maybe Lugo is a diamond in the rough for now and the future.

Feels so futile chasing these stinking Cards, but won't quibble with Giants, Pirates, and Marlins losses. Have more on hope on catching the Gigantes...
Only 3.5 back of the Giants. Why not go for the home WC game and make the Giants go to Citi?
