For the line to drop 3 or 4 points means that way tooooo much money was going on WSU. A two point spread at home means that RU is actually an underdog. A pickem would be RU -3.5. The wise guys could care less which way you bet, all they want is the same number of guys betting on both teams. Rutgers is in bit of a bind with this CB situation which is why I envision Flood using a dime package and only rushing three DT. I may be wrong but if they start picking the secondary apart he will have to make adjustments. I still think RU is going to win the game.

wow thats scary as i used to make a decent living doing that and the flats....they're not stupid about where they lay their money. If i was still doing that I'd of had RU as a 'LOCK'.....we'll soon see who knows their business. This makes me nervous.

The 2 bolded parts are my sentiments exactly - I don't understand this spread, and it makes me nervous because Vegas is smart. Where I don't agree is putting my money on RU - something seems off. RU should be at least a 7pt favorite in my opinion and it's way off.

They 're basing it on the new DB' s ...Hamilton out and the fact we have had some emotional weeks thanks to a few former players and media dweebs.

Agree with all this, which is why I'm nervous, but objectively speaking, after week one with them losing to a 1AA team and RU looking very good (except for the secondary and even that improved during the game), and given that we beat them on the road last year, I'm just surprised the line isn't greater. I would absolutely make a decent bet at RU and -2.

They have to know something we don't....from all evidence I agree with you...7 or even 7.5 in my head....watch the late money...that's where the smart money is.....I would've jumped on RU at 3.

If the line stays RU -2 it clearly means Rutgers is an underdog. For a Pick-em spread the home team should be giving at least 3 or 3.5 points. The bookies don't care how anyone bets, all they want is an equal number on WSU and RU. The losers pay the winners and the bookies earn the VIG on the losers which is 10% on the amount you bet. If the line opened at -5.5 and now it's -2 is a clear indication that heavy money was going on WSU. The bookies clearly panic and they drop the line to get people betting on RU. Remember the goal is to get the same number of people on both teams. Back in time when the mob was able to influence key players on a favorite then they would set the spread in such a way where 80-90% of the betting was on one team and in this scenario the bookies would make a windfall of money and an FBI investigation would ensue. Lol.

After watching 66 passes with at least 5 holdings min not called i know what Vegas saw....P12 officials...i wonder if any were in financial straights.Somebody knew something...2 TDS called back...gambling's always been dirty. I once hit a 34G triple on a tip....Furrow,Gallavantin Fox and Square Timber around the early 80s....another time i got a tip from Elmont on a 48-1 shot cold and hit BIG. Chocolate Lip i think his name was in 80/81...wish i was still in the loop.lol..Easy dough back then.
