OSU wins, Hofstra loses to UMass and are eliminated. We want Albany to win, OSU to win and probably UMass to win to take out Towson. Princeton/Brown winning the Ivy is helpful as well. Anyone who thinks the field shouldn't be expanded to 20 is nuts...RU vs the winner of the BE title at RU Stadium in a 1 game wild card Playoff on Wednesday night would be bonkers. Add 3 more play in games...gets the field to 20.OSU beating Hopkins today would really help. OSU beating Maryland in the final would really, really help.
Duke losing to Boston U would help us big time. The window got much smaller but it's not closed. We're still "in the mix" according to someone who would know. Denver is a joke. They are in, but they are highly questionable. As is Duke, imo.
Let's see how it shakes out.
I THINK Army beating ND helps us, but only if BU beats Duke. The ACC is propped up based on the perceived strength of wins against one another. With both Duke and ND losing to end the year I think it deflated the resumes of all the ACC and I think would lead to one of Duke or ND getting passed over.Does Army beating ND help us more or help Army more? I would imagine that it would help us more but, this is Rutgers and that never seems to work out.
I would bet money that Delany changes the format to a 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5 with first round byes for 1 and 2 seeds starting next season, especially if RU gets screwed over a second time. I wonder if Delany also tries to strongarm B1G influences on the Lax committee...maybe getting someone like Alvarez at Wisconsin on the committee for example. You know he plans to change things to make it more fair...by that I mean more fair to his team's.The problem, to me at least, is that if the Big Ten is going to be this good as a conference, you really cannot only have a 4 team tournament. The conference structure puts the 4 tourney teams clearly ahead of teams 5 & 6, and gives each of them a shot at another quality win.

That was absolutely idiotic...I would've loved a rematch with PSU in that 4 vs 5 game...Delany will change the format of the tourney for both M/WLax to my proposed format after the season. I think we would've taken PSU in a rematch at OSU.This to me is a big issue. Each team should make the tournament. Having the number 11 team sit home without an opportunity is poor management from a conference perspective.
And yea, I don't know why Denver is rated so highly. They beat Duke and ND early in the season, and neither of those wins is look as great right now.
And if you watched any of their game yesterday, no team in the tournament is scared of playing Denver.
Delany can and will get his guys on the seats. Hope the Pac 12 starts lax soon as we want the P5 to take control and wrestle it out of the hands of the peasants. Our lack of representation on the committee is a big issue. Unc never deserved to be in the tourney last year, even though they won the whole thing. Total gift, as was Navy and Hopkins.
No surprise former Navy coach sits on the committee, and is very close friends with Hopkins' coach.
That committee needs to be infiltrated.
Why would Denver throw a conference tournament game to keep Rutgers out?Someone tweeted earlier that could Denver have thrown the BE tourney game to keep RU out? I mean, they demolished Marquette just a week earlier, it may be plausible. Play them tough but lose to not make it nearly as eyebrow raising as a blowout loss.
Brown just won. Hopefully Penn upsets Yale and Brown wins the Ivy. OSU winning the B1G and Brown winning the Ivy along with Duke losing to Boston U could vault us past them or Denver. Brown is red hot...we played them at the right time.Brown came back from a 3 goal deficit in the 3rd...up 16-12 over Princeton with 3 min left in 4th.
Probably good. Cuse struggling a bit with Colgate...only up 2 at halftime.Albany winning bigly....
Good or bad for us?
ACC outside of ND was not good at all OOC.The ACC does not deserve four team. An 8-7 team should not get in period. The ACC is not that tough. RU should get in
Exactly. We shouldn't be penalized that much for a loss to Delaware. We scheduled Brown, Army, Princeton, and Stony Brook. And even Fairfield on the road is no cake walk. We won our games. And you know what, Denver lost in their first round game to Marquette. Their resume is not that lofty.ACC outside of ND was not good at all OOC.
Next year either expand the B1G Tourney field or play a Wild Card game vs the 5th ranked ACC team. RU vs UVA would've helped both teams out.But Denver has Tierney as their coach. He can do anything. They get a ton of hype, which this year, is very undeserved.
Sure wish we were playing this weekend against someone.
