Louisiana Lafayette just took a hit for the UNC Tarheel scandal

Vacating wins should just be the start of penalties.
If there are no forward going penalties they are worthless.

UNC needs to be hammered.

UNC Chapel Hill had some of the most egregious academic issues I have seen. They did whatever it took to win to keep money flowing in and increasing their prestige.

UNC-Charlotte is going to pay a dear price for Chapel Hill's misdeeds.

Vacating wins shouldn't even be part of the penalties. It literally does nothing except change some numbers in a book. I doubt anyone on any of those teams feels better because they no longer "lost" the game in the history book. Any financial gain from the win is already realized. It's an utterly pointless piece of "punishment theater", the NCAA saying "Look! We punished them! We took away the wins!"

Don't you worry! Once the genius executives at NCAA headquarters puts the hurt on UNC-Ashville, UNC-Gainesboro and UNC-Charlotte, the folks at UNC-Chapel Hill will get the message loud and clear and offer a heartfelt apology to be able to move on and make sure that if they do win the NCAA tourney that they repeat that they are sorry. Yep, message received .....

Why does UNC-Wilmington get spared. They should have to vacate some wins and lose a few scholarships as well.

Wouldn't surprise me if we had to fore go a few scholarships for a year or two. I mean, this is a serious situation down in NC.

The NCAA needs to break a few backs to get the message across.

It has been entertaining reading our posts in this thread.

On a serious note, it really outlines how Joe Public feels about world we live in. We know UNC isn't going to get touched; a slap on the wrist. Those TV contacts are way too important to mess with. Reminds me when those 5 OSU football players were allowed to play in the bowl against Arkansas and then started their 4 game suspension. Yet, any mid major does something wrong they get HAMMERED.

If Akron did what UNC Chapel Hill did, Akron would probably have to drop their entire sport program. And the power brokers and political elite wonder why people are looking for their pitch forks and torches.
