What a joke. These officials are absolutely awful.
Wow! I don’t follow wrestling, so someone is going to have to clue me in here. Hand to the face seems like a bs way to call a match
In all of the history of terrible officials taking over the game and screwing Rutgers in all sports, that might have been the single worst officiated event ever.
Well that's shitty. Disappointing and classless from RU fans, if true.
That was just wrong - they should show a tape of that to every incoming official for any sport of what NOT to do as a referee. These refs made it about them and not the people who were competing - hope the NCAA reviews this.
The official ruined that match from minute1
Ashnault wins his match, then points his fingers like sharp shooter pistols at the OSU Cowboy guy .. get's shoved, both players pulled away. -1 match point for both. Van Brill wins his match, it's 10-5 OSU at halftime, 2 straight wins for RU. If Suriano got the w it would be 8-7 RU at the half. Shame
Ah, I'm not able to see this match, but is this the ref that you folks are talking about? I saw him in the Ashnault clip. He's a former UNI wrestler, and is the high school principal right here in my hometown of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

I usually would agree, but coach smith did that after a reversal and he is widely considered the classiest guy in wrestling (after Abro).
How the heck did he not get backpoints there? Clearly two swipes.
No one's answered me, but if Jason Wedgbury is one of the refs, he refs a lot of our events throughout Iowa. We've never had many problems with him, aside from Iowa fans incessantly yelling for, "stalling" but that never changes anyway.
Can't balme him for the Suriano call. It was the right call. The rule just absolutely sucks.

He did. The refs we're absolute trash. They were clueless and ruined multiple matches especially at 133 .
Correnti got hosed on the back points but he has to hang on with 30 seconds left. Same with Glasgow

Nah. Suriano had his hand out and Fix walked into it.
Agreed he had 2 backs, but we struggled closing tight matches. You can't hope to hand fight your way to a 1 point victory. Gotta be more aggressive and shoot more.
