i have a ticket that says Clemson + 6.5, so as far as I'm concerned Clemson won.
Maybe, but if the DB contains Howard on that swing pass and they swarm him under, it is 3rd and long in a five point game. Instead, Bama flipped the field instantly and was in scoring position with the clock going down.
That onside pooch was perfectly executed.
Weak. We all know how much you hate the ACC and try to mock it, but give Clemson credit. They led after the 1st and 3rd, tied at the half, and made great plays on both sides of the ball. What more could you want?
Agree with this, I thought that was the back breaker. I think the onsides kick was a great call by Saban, but Clemson did get a FG in response after that IIRC so they were still in it. I think the Howard play really took all the air out of the balloon and pretty much put them away. They still would have had an ok shot if they could have held them to a FG there but the play that got Alabama down there was their biggest play IMO.
There is no doubt in my mind that those were the best 2 teams in College football.
I thought Alabama's tackling was very poor. Clemson lost due to two special team plays and their blown assignments on the TE.
Alabama's QB Coker was clutch in the 4th quarter. What can't be said about Clemson's QB D. Watson, both QB's made some terrific passes under pressure throughout the game. My hat comes off to the Clemson Defensive Line. To push around the best O-Line in college football the way they did was rather impressive. How about Hunter Renfrow (sp) I believe a walk on to step up the way he did yesterday. WOW!!!
In the end I felt Alabama's on side kick and the kick off return was huge!! Finally, OJ Howard stepped up big time.
It was a back-and-forth game played by the two best teams in college football.
