Since you are dealing in total speculation, it's only fair that you also agree to answer for the STRONG cult following on your board and among your fandom and whether they will all of a sudden admit they were all wrong if and when the men are found guilty of any of the charges of committing a coverup.... and that Paterno and the other enablers were 100 percent guilty of covering up acts of pedophilia under Paterno's watch......rather than continue to say they are being wrongly accused as they are now, and have been for the last several years.
You're testing my memory, but I'll give it my best shot:
2012: Ohio, at Virginia, Navy, Temple
- Virginia was scheduled prior to the sanctions.
2013: Syracuse (E. Rutherford), Eastern Michigan, UCF, Kent State
- The Syracuse was game was scheduled back in 2010. UCF was added post-sanctions, in place of UVA, reported as a way for O'Brien to lighten the schedule a bit.
2014: UCF (Ireland), Akron, UMass, Temple
- Touched on the UCF series above. This year's nonconference slate originally included Rutgers, of course, and I believe UMass was the replacement.
2015: Temple, Buffalo, San Diego St., Army
- Buffalo and San Diego were definitely added post-sanctions. Unsure about Temple/Army.
I'm not sure it's "total speculation." The state has already dropped some of the charges against those three, and Spanier is moving full-speed ahead with his suit against Freeh's firm and Penn State. The court docs are out there if you care to Google. These men were charged five years ago and the case has gone nowhere. No matter on what side of the fence you fall, based on evidence and the law, the state's case is far from rock-solid.
You didn't answer my question, but I'll answer yours: If it's proven that Sandusky's crimes were hidden in any way by C/S/S and by extension Joe Paterno, my view of those men will change radically, of course.
EDITED TO ADD: I can't speak to what happens on BWI, as I rarely visit that board. Most of the normal PSU fans seem to use the other services.

Congrats, in 1 year of the 140+ years you've had football u had a decent recruiting class. Please don't sit there and act like Flood destroyed the program, there was nothing to destroy. No. For one, I'm a graduate of the university, had a wonderful college experience that believe it or not includes countless things unrelated to football or even sports in general, and met tons of great people, including my wife and best friends. Also, human beings are really good at compartmentalizing, especially us educated ones who can recognize the difference between the behavior of a few individuals and supporting a program and hundreds of student-athletes. If everyone stopped being a fan of college and pro teams every time a player, coach, owner, whoever did something illegal or reprehensible, there wouldn't be many sports fans left.

You're now the second person I've answered, and yet still no replies to my original question, excepting the conspiracy theorist who trotted out OJ as evidence that the trial will must have been tainted if/when C/S/S are eventually cleared in full.
I agree with you. I'm not anti-PSU or anti-Catholic church. I just think that there are plenty of my fellow RU football fans here that are oddly selective in their outrage. I don't really understand that.
I have zero sympathy for those who were either directly or indirectly involved. So when PSU fans try to defend that, I think they're just being assholes. Even Paterno said he regretted doing more.
But when people condemn the entire institution and all it's graduates, that's a generalization of hatred I can't share in. Otherwise, I'd have to hate the Catholic church. Which I do not. And I'm not even religious.
Ultimately, I think these anti-PSU threads reek of some weird obsessive jealousy. Otherwise, why don't we have anti-Catholic church threads since there was far more abuse over a far longer period and covered up by far more people than anything that happened at PSU.
All I want to do is beat PSU on the football field. Same as any other school. I'll worry about our problems here and let them worry about theirs there.

Well, it is total speculation, because while some of the charges were dropped, the three men are still being charged with "failure to report suspected abuse" and "endangering the welfare of children."
What was dismissed was perjury, obstruction and conspiracy counts.
The "failure to report suspected abuse charges" (umm, the actually covering up) are still firmly in place.
So, if they also have these dropped, then I will change my view at that time as well, but jut because they threw out the perjury and other charges, doesn't mean the other charges are soon to be dismissed.

U may get a blind squirrel win once in a decade against PSU but straight up I do laugh how ya'll try to convince us how terrible Franklin is.... Why are you trying to convince us? We believe in him, we know that post sanctions the team needed to rebuild. We also know that each year many of Franklin's freshman have a big impact on the team and we are only getting better....

That is not my point at all. The post asked about changing opinions if the court dismisses charges. I was simply showing examples of how the courts can be wrong.
Some of our fans may be dumb enough to think that we're Alabama but the majority of us realize that it was always going to be an uphill battle post sanctions and the fact that we didn't have a single losing season is a miracle.
Again yes we lost to temple this year and Md last year. we played temple this year before we knew what we had in Barkley... he didn't pplay that game, I can assure you had he the result would be different... The good news is we play temple again this year, let's see what the result is...
