No. 12 Rutgers Wrestling Set to Compete at the MatMen Open

Give credit when credit is due. You guys constantly rip Clark, he guts out a nice pin from behind, and from what I saw this 2 word post is the only mention. I get it’s not a B10 opponent but how about some support when a Rutgers wrestler who is struggling pulls through. There’s a few people on here who are supportive but overall it’s like 80/20 negativity to positivity.
Get use to it..lol...most of the guys here are former world class wrestlers who know it all....NOT

Would be great if Janzer could make 174 next year.

In a perfect world where Turley could make 165 and Janzer at 174 it would give us our strongest lineup possible.
Billy will never make 174 ...just too big and all muscle so not a lot of weight there to lose without weakening himself to the extreme

Boone NOOOOO!

Not with 2 secs. left don't get high like that. Horrible awareness that late.

Ugh Boone got a huge reversal with 10 seconds left and then had an awful ride and got reversed himself at the buzzer.

4 in the semis

agreed. Definitely looks like our future 133.
Olivieri’s problem at the big 10 level is going to be a lack of offense. Every big match he was in in high school was 1-0, 2-1, etc. Granted he won just about all of these matches but he’s not going to be a guy who constantly racks up bonus points. He’s a very defensive wrestler. Peterson is going to be the more exciting of the two if he gets his health in order. Hoping they both pan out.

Principals? Someone stepped up and gave these guys an opportunity to wrestle this week in a competitive collegiate open all in a matter of days. If this means Willy and his crew make a few bucks good for them. Amid all the COVID madness, the wrestling community took the ball by the horns and made this happen. I’ll gladly pay under those circumstances.
I agree. I thought that Rokfin did a good job with short notice. We got to see the bouts and follow alone. I am grateful that they stepped-up. Otherwise it would have been a boring day. Only concern is the quality of the competition. Many team sent their backups. Was hoping that our guys would be challenged by a more elite field.

Yeah, weaker than midlands, but a step up from the average tournament. Most weights have guys in the top 20, some aa. For last minute, great job and awesome opportunity to get our guys on the mat before big ten schedule.

Most important thing now is to stay healthy, figure out what else we can we need to work on, and establish depth. Good to know we can see a guy like Joey o be in a match w an Aa type guy and have an opportunity for white to show the same.

I agree with your analysis, At the end of the day, it's still a sport of takedowns. IMO

Oliveri is up next on mat 1 against Kyle Burwick (Wisc) who was a NQ last year.

Great first period by Oliveri. Got in on a single and was able to finish after some scrambling. Finished the period on top and leads 2-0 to start the 2nd.

Oliveri starts on bottom but is able to get a reversal and leads 4-0 going into the 3rd with 1+ min of ride time
